In a Texas department store 4 workers tried to stop a violent shoplifter from getting away. But the store fired them for there actions. 2 women told KTRA they learned that there terminations one week later after what had happened at "Ross Dress for Less in Katy, West of Huston". My Opinion- I don't think that these people should have gotten fired for trying to stop this woman. Even if it was against the rules for doing what they did. At least they tried to stop her some people just walk away and act like they didn't see anything or they start to recording it on there phones.
Questions
Do you think that they should have gotten fired? Why or why not?
What else do you think we could do to try and stop more shop lifters?

Good job!
I think that its dumb they got fired, they were trying to stop wrong being done. Just keep an eye out for them.
I think they shouldn't of fired the person, but given them a warning. Stores have policies and it is reasonable that they would want the employees to follow them. I think that people will continue to shop lift. There are always those people that don't want to pay for things or can't afford them and shoplift to make up for it .
I don't think that they shouldn't have fired her, all they tried to do was stop a woman who was stealing merchandise. I'm not sure what we can do to prevent it, but I hope it decreases eventually.
I don't believe they should get fire but I do believe in the rule that says employees shouldn't try to deal with shop lifters. I'm not really sure what else we can do to prevent shoplifting besides put a police officer at that door but that's dumb
I agree with you and yes there suppost to get the manager or something before they deal with them.
I dont think that the person should have been fired he should have keep his job. I think that we need to put security devices on every thing
My brother used to work at Kohl's and he was always told not to fight back ship lifters because it wasn't his job, but someone else's job who was in a higher position. I think that it's wrong that stores don't do anything to ship shop lifters because it's only showing them that they can take whatever they want, which is wrong on so many levels.
That is a very good point I completely agree with you.
I don't think they should have been fired. They were just trying to protect their store. I'm not sure what else we can do to try and stop shoplifters. We already have security cameras and there's really no way you can see the person when they are shoplifting.
