The recent chaos in Ferguson, Missouri has escalated even more. The Governor, Jay Nixon, Issued an executive order on Monday the 18th to bring in National Guard troops. Nixon said, "Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard ... in restoring peace and order to this community."
This whole protest had started with the death of an unarmed 18 year old boy who was shot six times. The protest started out as peaceful groups getting together and praying but has taken a turn for the worst in the recent days. The police have had to start using tear gas and riot equipment to protect themselves from the molotov cocktails being hurled at them. I think that the whole situation has gotten out of hand especially now that the National Guard has been called in to try to stop the fighting.
Do you think that the situation has gone to far? Why or why not?

Well done but you could have replied a few more times.
I agree with the majority of you that it has escalated to far. For those of you who said that it hasn't gone to far i can see where you are coming from. it is just a bad situation that needs to be resolved.
I think people will do anything to get word out and hope for change. Even though they are all pushing too far. The situation went from bad to worse and it's only going to get even worse. It's not right to hurt in the name for another. That kid would want friends and family and people he doesn't even know to hurt for that boy.
I think that the National Guard was a good call on the Nixon's part but the situation has gone to far because they are now killing people and trying to kill the police.
I think this situation went to far. I think they do need support behind them on both sides but I don't think the National Guard should have got involved. I think it should be solved in a calm way and with just regular police officers. I think they should look more into the situation instead of just fighting about it.
I think that the situation has gone too far on both sides. I think that the people have gone too far because they are to the point of fighting and being violent, when no one but the police officer knows the whole story and the truth and when they have gotten to the point that national guard has to come in it is worse for both sides. It will make everything worse with more weapons and more and more people getting upset, especially after the officers let off the gases and couldn't find a way to control it.
I do think this situation has gone to far because bringing in the National Guard is going to make things even more worse than it already is. But the police had to take some sort of action with the rioters because the fighting was getting out of hand, but I think that the police officers could have handled it without bringing in the National Guard. The riots needed to be more peaceful and the people should have waited until the whole story of what happened to Brown was told.
Yes, because they shouldn't have ever have brought the National Guard in. it just made people even more mad than before. Yes, i would be mad if the officers made up a lame accuse to cover the officer. They shouldn't have spread tear gas to get rid of people. If they would have just let them protest, the protest would have probably been done with by now. The officers just mad them even more mad by bringing in more police officers, when the protesters are mad at the police officer who shot Brown.
I think this whole situation is horrible and has gotten taken way out of hand. Yes, it's sad that an unarmed person was shot that many times, but no one except for the police officer knows the whole story, so before people started taking it so out of hand they should have waited to find out exactly what happened. I'm not saying that what the police officer did was right, I just think people should have handled this situation in a more peaceful way like they did that the beginning. Hopefully all of this rioting will get under control soon so no one else is hurt by it.
