Carli Lloyd to join the NFL in 2020. Coming of the U.S. womans national soccer team as a forward, to join the NFL as a kicker and kick field goals(PAT). In the NFL offseason many teams were looking for a kicker. Fox News states,"Lloyd reportedly drew serious offers from a handful of teams who were in search of a kicker during the preseason." However she declined the offers as she was going to stay with the womans soccer team. Patriots quaterback Tom Brady weighed in on this by saying,"It's a very highly competitive game and it's hard to find good players. It's hard to find good quarterbacks. It's hard to find good coaches. It's hard to find good linebackers. It's certainly hard to find good kickers." After making a 55-yard field goal, during a Phidelphia Eagles traing camp disscusion started about Lloyd being a kicker in the NFL; the world chamion soccer player said she may consider joing next season.

1. What is your opinion on a female in a male dominated sport?
Awnser: I think that this is good because it shows that females are just as good as males, it shouldn't matter as long as she can preform what the males can do.
2. How would a male player go about hitting a female kicker?
Awnser: I think that it doesn't matter the gender, but play by the book. And by that I mean that you hit/tackle the correct way just like hitting/ taclking a make kicker.

Great story choice and well done overall! I do think you could have replied back a few more times.
I think it might cause issues because if they get hit to hard or get touched innappropriatly it cauld start discustions about whether it was on porpose or not. Just like any other player dont change anything even if it might cause contrivercy.
1 - I I feel like it would be a great step for women and a sign that progress is being made in America for equality among genders. It would be here that rolemodels are made and thus creating another generation to start more and continue more change in America.
2 - I'm not sure how it would work out exactly, but I don't think it would necessarily matter just as long as they were following the same rules of the game. If they wanted to be apart of it, then they should be able to handle things.
Eric, I don't think it should be a sign that America is focusing on equality. That would be like saying genders don't have different strengths. We do, no matter how you slice it. Men are generally stronger, women are generally more flexible. Men are generally less emotional while women are. I stress the word generally. Lloyd obviously proves that this isn't always accurate, I mean, there's always exceptions. But, back to my point; what it should mean is that this woman has reached the requirements that any other male football player has and that she's earned her spot.
One of my favorite phrases is "equal oportunity, not equality." Equal oportunity means that anyone has the chance. Anyone can earn an A in school so long as they put forth effort. Some people have a 4.0 GPA naturally. But with lots of studying, even the most distracted students can do great. Everyone has the oportunity to earn an A, but not everyone actually does earn an A. Equality, on the other hand, would be giving everyone an A for just showing up to class. It doesn't work well, because everyone could slack off and get the same result. In football you have to practice, you have to learn to kick, you have to be fast and swift and a good thrower and catcher. Lloyd is NOT getting an A for slacking off, Lloyd is getting an A because she's worked hard to get it.
I think it would be good change for a female to join a male dominated sport. It would encourage younger girls to do whatever they want, no matter the gender. She may need more training and experience since the male and female body are different and function in different ways. Sports are usually seperated so it's more fair because of the body limitations of each gender. A male player should play the way he is supposed to, fairly and with respect to the other players. This should apply to the female player too. She should also hit back just as hard and play just like all the other players.
1.) I think that it is a good thing becayse it shows that females can do everything a man can do.
2.) I think that it shouldn't matter how a male player should hit a female kicker, as long as the male and female players are both following the rules of the NFL then it really shouldn't matter.
For your answer to question two, I don't really think it's that simple, Jonah. No matter what the topic, people are going to be a bit hesitant around new situations. I think she should be treated as any other player, because, well, being female doesn't mean she gets special rules. It shouldn't matter to the person getting hit, but it will matter to the hitter. Just like when women wrestle, it just throws people off and they get nervous.
In my opinion im all for the idea of including women into the nfl beacuse including them might open up more oppertunitys for sports in the future. I think a male player would tackle a female player as per usual so that no one player male of femal gets special treatment.
First of all football isn't just for males girls do way more and we can certanly do a "male" sport. I think you could just treat it the same as both genders on the same soccer team. I personaly prefer to play sport with males because its ruffer than just girls.
Kira, this isn't meant to be sexist. Yes, football is a male dominated sport, but that's not because they don't think girls can't do it. (Sorry if the double negative is confusing, not sure how else to word that.) It's just like how Volleyball is a female dominated sport, it's just how it started and how it's stayed. Personally, I think it would be fine to have women in the NFL, not because they should be representing, but because anyone deserves a shot, not exclusive to one gender. I think if she's better than other canidates then she should have the spot as the kicker.
