The FBI had been keeping an eye on Christopher Lee Cornell for many months and January 14th they had enough evidence to arrest him. Cornell had been making a plan to attack the US Capitol by setting off pipe bombs and then shooting innocent people with an assault rifle as they ran out of the building. At the time of his arrest the FBI said that Christopher was prepared for the attack and had purchased two rifles for it. With the help of an FBI informant who pretended that he would be an accomplice to Cornell, the FBI was able to stop him before he could take his plans into action. Cornell wanted to do the attack as his way of supporting the terrorist group, ISIS.
I am very glad that the FBI was able to stop him before he could carry out his plan, but do you think there is more the FBI and our country could be doing to prevent possible attacks like this one? Should the US be more concerned about the possibility of another terrorist attack on our country?

Well done overall. Your questions are yes/no however.
I think that they get a bad rep because they haven't stopped some attacks from happening, but they do stop a lot of attacks.
There are things they are doing to prevent attacks like monitor cell phone activity and this information has been useful in some investigations. I think that other stuff like this should be done like monitoring web activity and chat rooms that mention planned attacks as it is a big possibility this information is on the internet. I think it is a possibility that there will be planned terrorist attacks but hopefully if there are any threats, they can be shut down before any damage can be done.
That's a really good idea! Social media is a huge part of our world today and better monitoring of it could help prevent a lot of possible attacks.
I think that they get credit for stopping the terrorists but get more credit for not stopping some terrorist attacks.
I think that the FBI has done a good job recently of preventing terrorist attacks and keeping an eye on people who seem suspicious about these kinds of things. But I think we need to do more/better security checks at our state capitol and other important buildings/places in the United States.
I agree, I don't think it would hurt to have more security around.
I think the FBI and in general the United States do many things to prevent possible attacks. And I think if there would be more possibilities like a new and better security check, they would use it. I don't think they should be more concerned, they are probably already concerned and that's alright.
You have a really good point, if they know of better security measures they are probably already using them!
Everyone should be concerned about the possibility of another terrorist attack but the FBI should just keep trying to do what they are doing and not worry about possible attacks.
