Fast-Food Employee Spits in Food

On Saturday a Facebook video went viral. The video was of a fight between a Pita Pit employee and a customer. The customer came into the restaurant at 3 in the morning. She dared the employee to spit in the sandwich she was making for her. When the employee did spit in the sandwich, the customer tried to jump over the counter and the employee threw the sandwich at her. After the video went viral, the employee was fired and the owners apologized for her actions.

1. Do you think that the employee got the right punishment by being fired?

Yes, I think she should have been fired even though the customer told her to do it. She still spit in the food and she could have contaminated the other food that was left uncovered.

2. Do you think this event could have been prevented if the customer came at a different time?

Yes because the employee was probably was tired and was about to go home before the customer came. I don't think she would have done that if the circumstances were different.

  • Be sure to comment three differnt days. Your summary is also a bit brief.

  • Yes, I think it was the right punishment ot be fired. The business could have got in trouble also. Yes, I think it could have not happened if the customer came at a diferent time. The employee probably wanted to go home.

    • I agree that she should have been fired because of the position she put the business in. I also think that she wanted to get out of there and go home because I know if I was working at 3 in the morning I definately wouldn't be very happy.

  • Yes if she spit in the food, she should have been fired, but the customer still had it coming to them. I think that the emloyee was most likely tired, but it still could have happened at a different time.

  • I think so some times its best to not listen to the customer and do things the way you know is right so when you do things like this your showing that you don't care about your customers and your job. Of course I wouldn't be to happy if I was working at 3 am either so they probably weren't in their right mind.

  • 1) yes if she spit in the food she should be fired.

    2) Yes I believe her mood would be different if she came at a different.

  • Yes the business has health regulations and a reputation to uphold they could go out of business with this bad reputation. The night shift person may have not been working and it would be busier during the day so yes.

  • 1 Yes I think she deserved to get fired because the company can’t have this types of employees as they representation of company. Also she was really bad with her customer and she just didn’t follow the rules.

2maybe the situation could had been different if both sides would have been more calm nad maybe if the costumer would have try to respond more careful.

  • I think that she got the punishment she deserved because even though the customer asked her to do it, she shouldn't have spit in the food. I think that maybe the employee was tired and ready to leave, so she reacted diferently than she would have normaly acted.

    • I agree that even though the customer told the employee to spit in her food, she still should have known better not to do something like that and if it was different she probably wouldn't have done it.
