Farms Hit by Migrant Labor Crunch

I was watching the news and I heard that it was getting hard for farmers to harvest their crops.More immigrants are leaving states because of they are wanting to back home because its more better there than it is the states.About 68% of the states farm workers were born in Mexico and about 1/2 aren't allowed to work for the states. The unauthorized farmlands in the states  have $19 billion in losses  from United States Agriculture.Which is 9% decline in output.

What is your opinion on this?

My opinion is that this is bad because immigrants are trying to help the agriculture for the states and now they are leaving cause the states are getting worst.

What would you do to solve this problem?

I would try to help the immigrants  out as hard as I can , also I would try to hire more people to help the farms and the agricultural economy.

  • It is odd that immigrants, a good amount of which might be illegal, are going back home because of this issue. I am surprised that 68% of the states' farmers were born in Mexico.

  • I think its interesting how immigrants are moving back to home countries because of this. It seems unlikely but also very likely. I also think an interesting statistic is the fact that 68% of the states workers are farm workers. I'm not exactly sure how this problem could be solved. Many different factors play into the types of economy that go into Agriculture.

  • Farmers will find more workers to help out on the farm. But if not they will probably tell the imigrants to stay and help on the farm probably making an offer to pay more and make there work easier.

  • Well we are losing money because a lost to farming but I don;t know what a farm is like so I can't really say but we can go low on food because the main food source comes from farms. Pay them more and make them feel like they are at home so they won't leave.

  • I think that the farmers will be able to work there way around the problem and that it really isn't that big of an issue. to solve this problem i would just try to stop the immigrants from leaving.

  • 1. I think this is bad and I hope farmers can get past this.

2.I think maybe pay more and give them more incentives to stay and work.

  • I don't think that this is a very good situation for anyone. The immigrants are just coming to the states to work to feed their families. The immigrants are helping us by working hard to provide food for us and when we constantly make the US a bad place to be in at times, we are hurting the economy. Immigration is not always a bad thing and this is one of those times.

  • I don't think that's fair because they feed us. I wouldn't do that.

  • Well done overall Hannah! Your summary could be a bit stronger.

  • I think it is sad that immigrants can't find work in the states. They help with agriculture a lot and they deserve work. I would let immigrants take jobs in the United States.
