In September 2018, a breach in Facebook's data exposed millions of non-public photos of its users to completely unrelated people. While this is an issue for thousands of people, the problem for Facebook is that they failed to reveal this information in a timely matter, waiting until November 22 of this year to inform the General Data Protection Regulation (GDRP), a European regulation that came into effect earlier this year, of the breach. Because Facebook did not follow these regulation laws, they could face up to $1.6 billion in fines for failing to inform the GDRP of the major mistake. Overall, the situation makes Facebook look even worse after a long year of security failures and breaches.
Do you use Facebook, if not, why?
Although I use Facebook, I am by no means an active user and I don't share much of my own information on there.
Why do you think Facebook took so long to relay this information?
I think since Facebook has already had a terrible year for security reasons, they wanted to try and fix the problem themselves befire relaying it to the world.
Do you think Facebook is dying, why or why not?
I think Facebook's lifespan won't last much longer, as they have had a lot of issues recently and a lot of people are leaving it for better, more stable social networks.

I don't really use Facebook at all. I mean I have it but that only because my mom wanted to be able to send me Facebook post and to tag me in things. So this doesn't really affect me but my mom I'm not sure.
I do use facebook but I don't use it that much because they have a lot of hackers. I do think facebook is dying because it is mainly used by the older population and the older generations and not very many people use it. I think Facebook took long to relay this information because of security reasons and they probably wanted to fix it before they let the world know about it.
I do, but I keep to myself and very, very rarely post anything.
I'm sure with all the security issues they've had recently that they chose not to disclose this information because it risks losing their credibility. I'm sure if this continues to happen then soon people will stop using Facebook.
I doubt it, a lot of people use it to share their feelings, talk to people through messenger, or even just buy and sell stuff.
I have a facebook account but I do not use it anymore. I agree that they could have been trying to fix it before they told anyone but they probably should have said something about it sooner.
1) I do use facebook. I keep up with the older generation of my family.
2)I think facebook has had many security issues recently as well. They did try to fix the problem before others got into it.
3)I think facebook will stay around. It has a lot of users believe it or not.
I have facebook, but I do not use it very much because I have other social media that I use a lot more. I use it occasionally, but not that much. I don't think that facebook is dying, but I think that there are less users.
I do think that Facebook is dying because it used to be very popular and everyone would use and post on it but then other platforms started to surface and older generations such as our grandparents started to get a Facebook and then it wasn't as cool anymore.
I think that it took so long for Facebook to display this information because (like you said) have had a lot of security problems in the last year and didn't want the public to know until they could get it under control first.
Yes, I do occasionally use Facebook but definitely not that often compared to Instagram and Snapchat in which I use several times a day. Facebook just isn't as user-friendly as other social media platforms.
I agree with you that Facebook is a great way to interact with relatives and friends. I would more so say the relatives though because they use Facebook more often and enjoy how it works.
