Recently, Facebook was heard to have started rebranding their company with Meta which is in relation to Metaverse. This also has started them to change its corporate branding name too. Metaverse is a virtual interconnected community where people can interact with other people and work, play games, etc. The owner, Mark Zuckerberg announced this last Thursday in a conference to help make the company’s public image look better. He told this to a tech innovator that was focused on the next generation of online interaction which has to do with metaverse.
When people started hearing about the corporate name change, many wondered if this would mean the logo looked different or if they would change the name altogether. The answer is the app will keep its name as Facebook. I believe this would be because that has been its name for as long as people could remember. Some are also wondering why they suddenly just up and decide on changing the corporate branding name. Well, this is because by changing the company’s name to Meta it helps to reflect back on their company to be seen as just more as a social media platform. They want to be able to show growth and more opportunities for the company’s name like I mentioned earlier because Meta means virtual.
Do you think they should have changed the name to Meta?
If so, why / If not, why?
Do you like the name?
Yes?/No?

Good topic choice and well done overall Ella! I do think you could have explained the problems Facebook has had over the last month or so which might explain why they are doing this rebranding. As is, your summary is a bit brief.
I dont think that they should have changed the name to meta because everyone knows it as facebook and will continue to call it facebook. I also think that it sounds weird for a social media platform to be called meta. I think that facebook is a much better name.
To be honest, I don't really think it matters whether they change their name or not, but I think it would have been better to keep it. Everyone knows the name "Facebook" which is why it wouldn't make as much sense to change it. The name doesn't sound right, but I'm sure, as time goes on, it will become more familiar to everyone.
I do understand what you are saying and I agree it would have been easier to keep the name to Facebook instead of changing it to Meta.
no, it's not a very good name. not at all because why change it after so many years to some things not very good.
I can see why they would want to change it because of the recent allegations, but i do agree it wasn't that good of an idea to change the name.
I personally don't understand the need for them changing the name to Meta so I don't think they should've changed the name to Meta. I personally don't like the name, I liked the name facebook as it was because Meta makes no sense.
I agree with you, I do not really like the name either, but I can see why they did it considering all the recent allegations. I think they just to be one of the many company's that are going into this new Meta businesses.
It could be nicer organization wise, so then you don't have to sign up with facebook on apps. Meta isn't a very catchy name but overtime I think people will soon get used to it.
I mean to me it really does not matter because changing a name is not changing a company it is still the same company with a diffrent coat of paint ow I like the name because it diffrentiates from the one app that they own and helps them stand out more as a brand rather than one app
