Expensive Stamps

The U.S Postal Service is going to raise the cost of stamps again on Monday . They will be 49 cents instead of 46 cents. Increasing financial losses forced the USPS to ask regulators for a price increase.

Story Here

I think that if the USPS want to make any money at all, the way to do it would be to to lower prices of stamps and shipping. That way more people use the service. Lower costs=more business.

What do you guys think?

  • Great topic but a bit brief and again, work on a better question.

  • I agree with you, but also the business needs to make a profit. By raising the cost of stamps they increase the profit.

  • I do think it just is their way of getting more money. Hopefully over time stamps don't get over a $1.00. I don't think they should rise the cost anymore, just for a stamp.

  • I can completely understand why they want to raise the prices for their stamps b/c they have to pay for gas and all that. So i completely support them.

  • I agree with this. Lower costs with equal more business for USPS. I mean it isn't that hard to figure out. And people will want to buy more stamps to mail there stuff.

    • exactly what I think.

  • Oh god nearly 50 cents? Thats.... two gumballs... The real way you are paying is from the bailout this company will I'm sure will be receiving considering their expected loss by 2016 is 21 billion dollars.

  • I think the price of stamps already seems high. People are now turning to electronics to send mail, so this really won't benefit much at all in my opinion.

  • I think that people will still be using the services even though they raised the price a little.

    • Ya, but maybe if they lowered the prices more people would send mail, because it is cheaper.
