Evolution?

There are only four states the teach the science of evolution. We are one of those four. New Hampshire, Florida, and Rhode Island are also in this small group.

I think this is odd. If kids don't know one way of how the earth could have possibly been created then they will be clueless in life.

What do you think?

  • I definitely agree.  That's seems so crazy that there are only four states that teach that.  I guess since that's what we've always learned, I've never thought about if other states teach it, too.  It's good to know other theories about how everything was created.

  • States don't teach evolution because they don't want to teach people conflicting ideals, but they don't understand that not teaching evolution is more supportive of religious ideals. If a child is never given evidence supporting both a religious and a non-religious viewpoint, they are doomed to be stuck with whatever their parents shove down their throats (which in this country is mostly those of religion).

  • I agree. People need to know that there is a lot of possibilities that life could come about.  They need to know the scientific side of it. If they are so religious then they have nothing to worry about because they do not have to agree with it. I mean it is just a theory not a fact!
