Elizabeth Warren dropped out of the race for the democratic presidential nomination on Thursday. This comes after a poor turn out for her on super Tuesday, with her having a total of only 64 delegates. At the start of this year she had been a front runner and has steadily dropped in polls since. At this point in time she has not endorsed any candidate. Warrens run has been interesting to say the least, she had built her campaign on big structural change and free Medicare for all. These ideas where ones that would help the middle and lower classes, and those of different races. The ideas that her campaign was built on did not resonate with many, besides those that were white and had a college education. The race for the democratic presidential nomination has come down to 2 men that were front runners from the start. Those two candidates are on the liberal side, Bernie Sanders, and on the more moderate side, Joe Biden. This race for the democratic nomination sure has been one that people will remember. Do you think that Warren did the right thing by dropping out?

Yes, because she was not a front runner at this point in the race.

Who do you think will win the democratic presidential nomination?

I think Biden will win, he is ahead in delegates and he has more of a wide appeal then Sanders.

  • Well done Cameron!

  • I think it was the right decision to drop out because the statistics showed not too good results for her. For now, I also think Biden will win because he got Texas which was actually expected for Sanders to win.

    • I agree with you, since Warren was so far behind it would be really hard for her to come back and beat the two front runners, Biden and Sanders. Biden did win Texas which was showing in polls to go to Sanders, this shows that Biden could swing some staes that are showing more Sanders in polls.

  • yes because currently Biden is winning most of the votes and if people want to win the debate then i think everyone needs to be on the same page with who they want to win. I think that Biden will end being the winner because he has the most delegates of the party.

  • Yes, I did, because Biden is just taking over. Nobody would listen to someone as far left like her, and the democrats have to nominate a moderate to ensure their win. Biden is clearly going to win it, at least if he can string a sentence together for an acceptance speech. He knows how to capture the peoples hearts, and he is the least left of all of the candidates.

    • I agree with you, to get a democate back in the white house they would have to go with a more modirate canidate, that way the have the largest chance of getting independents and popele that are barley republicans to vote for Biden. If the canidate was Sanders, then you would have a much small chance of get undecided voters, since he is so far left.

  • I think that while it was definitely a difficult choice for her to make, it was the best option for her to do in the end. I think she made the right choice by dropping out because it was clear that she was not going to advance far enough to win the presidency, and she realized this. I am not sure who will win the democratic nomination because while Biden is ahead in delegates as of right now, he may not stay that way. Biden had an excellent Super Tuesday turnout, but there is still a chance that Sanders will gain more in the end. However, as Sanders is further left than Biden, Biden might gain more popularity because he’s more moderate.

    • All the points you brought up are very true, Warren made the right desition by dropping out of the race for the nomination. It is also a toss up for who is going to get the nomination, even though Biden is up Sanders can still come back.

  • I think that it was right for her to drop out because especially when she is running against such a great president, Donald Trump, she would not stand a chance against him. I think Biden will win the nomination but won't win against Trump, because he has such great precentages of approval.

    • I agree with you, since Trump has done such a good job in office he will have a pretty good chance of getting elected. Biden has a desent chance at getting the democratic presidential nomination, which mean he would then end up running agenst Trump, which will probaly end with Trump winning.
