Elephant Recieves Prostetic Leg

At the Mae Yao Reserve in  Thailand, an elephant named Motala is an animal there who has only 3 legs. He lost his leg by stepping on a landmine and was rescued by an elephant hospital. He recently recieved a prostetic leg and is doing just fine. Comments?

  • Wow, that is really cool that we have the technology to help out other animals other than ourselves.... After all, it is human's fault that the elephant lost the leg in the first place. In my opinion it was our responsibility to develop something like that.
  • That is pretty amazing im glad the elephant is doing good

  • that thing is huge
  • Thats really cool that they rescued that elephant. and i agree with philip you usually dont see this with a lot of animals.
  • One question. Why is there a landmine in a Reserve?
  • Thats one giant prostetic leg.

  • poor elephant!:( but its lucky he has people caring for him! where was he that he stepped on a land mine anyways!?
  • That must be one heavy duty prostetic leg they have their to be able to hold some of the elephants weight. I am sure that elephant is glad to have to help him walk.
