Earthquake in Alaska

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Alaska Sunday morning. The epicenter was 162 miles from Anchorage. The earthquake lasted around 30 seconds and did not cause any major damage to structures or injury anybody. Due to how deep the earthquake started there were no tsunami warnings or advisories. After the 7.1 magnitude earthquake 2 more followed coming in at a 4.0 magnitude and a 3.2 magnitude. The last two struck within 30 minutes of the first.

I am glad that nobody was seriously injured or killed. In my opinion earthquakes are a very scary thing to go through. I have never experienced one but they are very deadly if they cause buildings to fall or even tsunamis to form.

    • I would definitely be running like a mad man to find a safe spot to wait it out. My questions are like survival questions. After the end of it I would be helping others out if they need it.

  • I would get to the safes place and stay there tilled it stop and probably be scared. Then I would go see what damage it did. No, they are natural if to those places you know they can happen.

  • I would be really scared and would try to get to the safest place. I would want to go see my friends, and then walk around and see all the damages made. Not necessarily, bad things especially natural disaster can happen anywhere. If you love everything else about the state than an earthquake shouldn't stop.

  • I would try to stay calm but the chances of the happening are very slim. I would go make sure my family and friends are okay, then I would help those in need. I do not think an earthquake will change where I live.

  • I would definitely panic and not know what to do if I was in an earthquake. It's a natural part of the Earth though and as far as we know, there is nothing we can do to prevent them. Just being aware of them is all you can do.

  • If I were caught in an earthquake, I would try to stay calm and find the safest place to be. Afterwards, I would make sure that my family is okay and see how much damage the earthquake caused. I don't think earthquakes would necessarily define where I live, I would just try to take more precautions if I knew where I lived could be dangerous.

  • I would try and find the safest place and stay there and when it is done and over with I would go home and tell my parents that I'm okay. I would make sure people around me and family members are okay and while I am doing that be scared. Because it would all happen to fast you don't really know. Yes it if happens a lot them I would move.

  • Wow! I would not have wanted to be in Alaska at that time! That sounds very scary. If I was caught in an earthquake, I would try and move in between a doorway. Once I knew the earthquake was over, I would go outside and check to make sure people were okay.

  • If i were caught in an earthquake I would try to find the best place I could go and get there very quick. I would probably panic because I think earthquakes are scary, although I have never experienced one. I would be very relieved after the earthquake stops. I would feel much safer. Yes I think earthquakes would cause me to live in safer environments. I think other people take this into consideration because it could be very life threatening.
