"The chip's going to always be there," he says. "Whether I'm facing them, whether I'm facing anybody. It's going to always be there because all 32 of you guys passed up on me. It wasn't just one team. It was everybody. Whether they want to admit it or believe it or not, they all knew what I could do. They knew how talented I was and how good I could be." LeGarrette Blount speaks these words into a microphone addressing not only the Patriots, but the entire NFL. That's right, there are a total of 32 teams in the NFL, and Blount has taken a hit from all of them.

No one expected Blount to be making a Super Bowl appearence this Sunday. This is why - Blount has suffered through 255 undrafted picks, and abandoned by the Steelers, the TItans, Buccaneers, and Patriots... twice. But he is here, on his eigth NFL football season, making his mark in the US Bank Stadium this Sunday in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the 52nd Super Bowl. That is something to be proud of. Just to put in perspective how good Blount is, take a look at this:

Only four current players have more rushing touchdowns. They are all potential Hall of Famers.

Only six players - that are all Hall of Famers - have more postseason rushing touchdowns.

He is ranked sixth in this NFL season.

Maybe LeGarrette Blount is finally done with being looked over.

Questions:

Do you think Blount should be in the running to be in the Hall of Fame? Why?

Would you give up or keep trying after being rejected by this many teams?

My Opinion:

Yes! He is clearly one of the best NFL players in the league. He is ranked with future and current Hall of Famers so I think he deserves his oppurtunity - especially after all he has been through.

I would honestly probably give up. Being rejected by 32 teams would destroy my confidence, and I don't think I would be able to keep on going.

  • Good job Bobbie!

  • I think so! He has gone through so much rejection and still continued pursuing his passion despite being turned down over and over again. I would probably have believed that I wasn't worthy of being on an NFL team and that my talent just wasn't good enough to play at the professional level.

  • I think he should because of all the teams that have passed him up. Judging by his stats I don't think he should be there because of his football skills but most definitly his ablity to keep his head up. I think that I would have keeped trying and just kept my head up knowing that if I work hard enough my time will come.

  • 1) Yes I do I think he deseves he. He has worked hard so I think he has deserved it greatly.

    2) I would probably give up like you said I would have no confidence left and just want to give up.

  • I don't know if he should be in the hall of fame. Barely even heard of him. I know it would stink to be rejected over and over. But I don't think he should be in the hall of fame becuase rejection.

  • Yes he is a really good running back but I don't really know what it takes to get into the Hall of Fame or what the criteria is, but from his preformance on sunday I'd say he is pretty good. I would definatly keep trying especially since he knows hes good and then when he does make it he can show up all the teams that turned him down.

  • I don't think he should be running to be in the Hall of Fame yet, he as a bright future in front of him, and maybe in a couple of years he can be in the Hall of Fame. I would never give up, some day a team is gonna see my talent. If it was my dream and future there is no reason to give up.

  • I agree, I mean he is one of the best NFL players. Blount has a great football future ahead of him, and has a great chance to be in the Hall of Fame.  As stated above, he is a very great player.  I would have given up, and I agree my confidence would have been shaken. It was a good thing he continued and persevered, because he finally made a team.

  • I don't think he deserves to be a hall of famer right now but but maybe if he continues to do well in the NFL he could be someday. I would keep trying because its the sport that you love and have invested so much into and you are right on the edge of making millions of dollars.

  • Yes I think he definitely deserves recognition

If I was passionate about it. Its like anything else in life you don't listent others and you keep going.
