On October 6th in Long Island, New York, Russell Cohen was charged with three counts of child endangerment and an aggravated DWI. Cohen was an instructor at the Suffolk Auto Driving School. While instructing four students, the students asked him to pull over at a McDonald’s around 11 a.m. Suspecting that their instructor was drunk, the students called 911. Russell left the students at McDonald's after they didn’t come out. An hour later in Ridge, New York, Cohen crashed into the back of another car. The woman, 29, was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Russel was unharmed. He will be brought in front of a court in Central Islip.

Do you think Cohen had ulterior motives when driving drunk with the students?
It is possible that he could’ve had ulterior motives against the students, but that will be unknown until his trial. I think that he was depressed or had something else going on that affected him enough to do this.
Does the Suffolk Auto Driving School need to have more rules and tests in place to prevent this?
I think that they do need to put more rules and tests into place so that something like this never happens again. If the students were still in the car when he crashed there could've been more injuries because of one person not making a smart decision.

Well done Reanna!
I feel like they need to have more strict rules for the drivers that are able to drive. Something like this never should have happened or been legal. I feel like someone needs to be responsible and take charges enough though no one was hurt badly becuase if someone was to get hurt badly or even killed, that would be very terrible and it shouldn't happen ever.
He could've had ulterior motives when drunk driving with the students, but I think he had just made a poor decision. I think there should be more precautions to keep this from happening, but not every driver would make a bad decision like this. They should be checked before being able to drive.
I agree, I think the process of knowing who should be checked everytime they drive should be a little better than it is.
I think he thought that he wouldnt of even been driving because thats usually how drivers ed goes the teachers just sit in the car. I think maybe he got mad and the achol didnt help the situation when they didnt come out. Ive never heard of the rules and I think this doesnt happen often, so why should others be punished for this mans horrible decision.
This is true, the school I think does need some more background checking but if those who worked there were to be punished by someone else's actions why should they have to suffer from it.
I wouldn't think so, if he had some grudge against some students that would be odd. I think he just made a mistake or he went through something bad recently. Probably, many things need more testing honestly, considering how often we see things like school shootings, many more tests need to be put in place for many more things.
It is definitely possible that he had ulterior motives, but I doubt it. Chances are he is just an alcoholic or something along those lines. More rules and tests need to be put into effect. For example, they could test the instructor and the student drivers before they drive to see the blood alcohol level. They should also look into the instructors' pasts to see if they have any drinking problems.
I think that he should lose his job and license to be a driving instructor. He could have easily killed someone, having no regard for the safety of others. In my opinion, no one with any past DUI or DWI should be allowed to be permitted to drive students around.
I agree, but I don't think that he had any past DUI's or DWI's, so how would the company have known?
