A man named Daniel Glazebrook who is 43 years old was accused of stealing nearly 173,000 dollars from the Union in his time as Treasurer for the Nebraska Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 8. Daniel is facing three felonies two of the felonies he was facing were forgery of over $5,000 he also is faced with theft. Dave Aldrich the President of the Union launched an Audit reviewing the 7 years that Glazebrook was treasurer, he said that he had no feeling at all about Glazebrook doing such a thing. But when the statement came in it said that that they were off by quite a few thousand because Glazebrook didnt keep the charge report up to date with the money he was taking out. The reveiw showed that the inconsistencies started in 2015 up until now. In 18 months Glazebrook took out several $500 withdrawals from ATM's which totaled up to $56,000. The President also stated that Glazebrook wrote 41 checks to himself and one check requires 2 signatures which meant that Glazebrook signed for one signature and forged the other signature. Glazebrook is being held on 10% of his $100,000 bail and his court date is sentenced for Thursday.

How long do you think Daniel Glazebrook's prison sentence should be?

I think that Glazebrooks should be sentenced around 20 years in prison considering the fact that he stole so much money and that it was from the Fraternal Order of Police.

Why do you think Glazebrook stole all of this money, and how do you think he got away with it for so long?

I think he started off by taking a little bit of money because he was short on some kind of bill and if the bill didn't paid he would be in trouble but once he realized he wasn't getting in any trouble he kept taking more and more money, I think the reason he got away with it for so long was because the Fraternal Order of Police trusted him so much they didn't think the money would be stolen by one of their members.

  • Well done Isaiah!

  • 7 years. I don't think he can be trusted with any accounting jobs. Nevertheless, he still needs to pay back all the money. I think he stole the money just so he could have lots of money. He probably just kept a secret and was careful to leave behind any clues.

  • I think that he should have between 10 to 15 I think 20 is a little to much yes it was alot of money its not like he killed or raped someone or something it was stealing money

I think eather he wasent getting paid a good amount or like you said he had bills he needed to pay but dident have the money so he decided to take matters into his own hands and start stealing money I think he got away with it buy stealing very little amounts at diffrent times os they wouldent notice but eventually there going to notice over time momey is missing

  • I think he should get around 15-20 years in prison because of how much money he took and consdering it came from a good place and also forged signatures which just adds on to the time he should be given. He may have been in some sort of debt and was trying to get out of it so he stole the money but wasn't caught so he may have thought if he kept stealing it he wouldn't get caught.

  • I think that glazebrook should get six years in prison as this crime falls under grand larceny and is a level 5 felony which is punishible by a max sentence of 6 years in prison and as for why he stole all the money, I mean come on man having that money at your disposal is very tempting to say the least.

    • I do not agree, its not that he just stole the money he also forged nearly 50 signatures which would give him at least another 5 to 6 years and that would put you at roughly 12 years. And I don't think that just because it is there means you should steal it.

  • I think it should be around 10-15 years because he stole a lot of money but it's not like he killed someone. I think it started out as needing cash (maybe for rent or something) and then when he didn't get caught he just kept doing it. I think he was in a very trusted position and he abused it.

  • 1) I think that he should be punished and set prison time for stealing, but im not sure how long. Maybe like 5-10 years?

2)I agree that he probably started off taking little by little and got away with it. He figured if people werent noticing than he could keep doing it without getting caught.

    • I think that he should definetly serve at least 20 years the things he did werent exactly petty offenses so I think 5-10 years wouldn't get the point across to him and I think you are right about why started to steal the money and how he was able to steal the money.

  • I think Daniels sentence should be 20 years no more and no less. He probably started off stealing small amounts of money. Then as time went by so did the more money.
