Donations to the NRA double after shooting

The Donations for the NRA doubled after the Parkland shooting on Feb 14th 2018. In Jaunuary the NRA collected 248,000 and in Febuary they collected over 779,000 dollars towards guns and new ways to sell them. People think that the intrest in guns got bigger because of the shooting. Others think that they are buying more because of the possiblitle of them limiting guns. The number of people contributing money went up 500% from the week before the shooting. Its hard to prove that the parkland shooting influenced the NRA donations but there is little key factors that might contribute to proving the point.

If You were a parkland student how would you feel?

1.) I would feel scared and confused on why something like that would make people want to buy more guns.

How does these facts make you feel?

2.) It makes me scared that people are selling and buying guns right after something that servere happened.

  • Good story choice but you didn't make any comments which is worth 20 points.

  • I would feel okay about the situation because where there is more people that have guns to protect themselves and their family it should be relatively safer. I really don't feel all that concerned about the increase in gun sales. People may be buying guns to protect themselves. Guns do not have to used for crime all the time.

  • Poeple are buying more guns because guns don't kill poeple, Poeple kill people. A gun does NOT harm people. IF you look at a gun its not just gonna start shooting at you. Somebody has to pull the trigger. It doesn't bother me that people are buying guns. good for them.

  • If I was a Parkland student, I would be scared and also confused as of why the number of people contributing money went up so much after everything happened. I would probably come to conclusion that they are buying them for protection. I think that it's surprising how much it's increasing so fast.

  • I would not feel much different but I would be a little confused on why so many people are now donating all this money after all the bad things are happening. I think that we should keep guns and think it is good that people are donating to the NRA.

  • It isn't just Parkland students that would fear these things that are happening. Students all around the country aren't happy with it. I myself don't see a huge problem with people buying guns just because they're maybe going to limit them.

I don't really know because some people might just want these guns and have to get them right now so they can get them for some form of protection.

  • 1. I would be confused and scared that people are going to give money and go to get more and more guns and It kind of makes me confused on why people would go and do that after things that just happened.

    2. I am not sure how I feel about it because people are using all this money to go and buy more guns right after what just happened at the school.

  •  1. I would feel like I need to invest into a Glock 21 45. calibre, so that way I can feel safe and trust myself to handle any sort of shooting situation.

    2. Great that the NRA is doing great and getting so many donations so that way they can further the teachings of how to properly use a gun the safe way.

    • I hear ya bud. Them shooters would still be shootin if they didn't get a bullet in their head. I'd much rather have a gun on me then believe that there are no guns an that they are banned.

  • If I was a parkland student I would be extremely worried as to why the purchasing and selling of guns went up so fast right after a horrific event. Yes, it could be people wanting to arm themselves just in case, but it could also be someone buying a gun who has bad intentions. The thing is we'll never know for sure. These facts make me a little unsettled.
