Dogs Can Help With a Healthy Lifestyle!

Although many dogs come with problems, they can help owners with a healthy life. Owning a dog can help lower the risk of heart attack. But that's not all! Dogs can help people that live alone. A study was done seeing how dogs effect those with more people in their house vs those with less. There was less of an effect in homes with more people rather than less, but it still lowered death from heart problems.

The study cannot explain why dogs help with health. Good company or exercise could be the main factor. Scientists believe that exercise is not the main cause, but it is the friendship. It is also believed that the dogs give off good germs, but scientists plan to keep on studying and learning.

  • While your summary is good, you only replied one time. -5 late

  • I think that this makes a lot of sense. When the study mentioned that good company could be one of the main reason I think that this is most likely true because t makess sense that people with a big family look forward to coming home to something good or the company of a family helps with your life. So it makes a lot of sense that small families or singles would benefit from a dog in the home.

  • 2 - I think that dogs can promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging their owners to go outside and be active just by one look. Dogs are a lot to take care of and owners usually do what makes their dogs happy so I think that that leads to more exercise and possibly a healthier diet.

    • Liz, I like your ingenuity and I think that you have a very good and valuable answer here! I also think that your answer is not only valuable, but it is valid and correct in my humble opinion.

  • 1 - Yes, I think that dogs will increase you lifespan by a long time because they keep people happy. I don't think that happiness necessary leads to a longer life, but I think that if people are happy and have company they will be more likely to take care of themselves and therefore live longer.

    • Again! This answer I can't express and say enough in words how much I agree with you! I think that you are 100% correct in the statement "dogs will increase your lifespan" I really like this part of your answer.

  • I don't really think that dogs increase the lifespan by a really long time, but it's probably true that they do increase it at least a little bit. I also think so because of the exercise and the friendship and company they are especially for people that would be alone otherwise.

  • I do think that dogs could increase someone's lifespan due to that fact that dogs help with health, but I don't think they help enough with a human's health to increase someone's lifespan by a long time. I think dogs promote a healthy lifestyle due to the fact that they need to be walked, they love attention, and enjoy being with someone, which in turn makes the human happy and helps them get exercise.

  • Not really, they can help improve your health like with your heart and a little extra time, but I don't think they can increase your lifespan as they are too many factors that can end your life. Just because they're dogs. They're playful, energetic, and lovable.

  • Probably not a long time. Dogs are great companions and make great friends. They overall  keep you happy, which in turn helps encourage you to be healthy.
