Through the coronavirus pandemic Trump has been reluctant to wear a mask. He has said that it is a sign of weakness and has also said that coronavirus will just fade away. Personally I think that as a leader in this country Trump should wear a mask. Well recently Trump started wearing a mask, in late July he posted a picture of himself wearing a mask on Twitter. At a White house briefing he said, "Whether you like a mask or not, they have an impact." So what is with the sudden change in opinion. It could just be that maybe he came to his senses and decided that masks actually protect other people and not wearing one is selfish. Or he could have seen that he was way down in the polls and that maybe if he would wear a mask that would boost his popularity. I don't know and I don't think anyone really does. Trump still refuses to put out a nationwide mask mandate because he said he wants people to have "a certain freedom." Most countries have gotten over this and put out a mask mandate throughout their whole country, including UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson who didn't want to make these rules, but decided to put a mask mandate on public transport. If you don't wear a mask on public transport in the UK you will get a fine of up to one hundred twenty five dollars. So is Trump wearing a mask out of care for other people or is he wearing it for votes and popularity. I guess we will have to find out.

I think he is wearing it for popularity because his change in opinion of masks changed awfully quick.

I think that mask mandates should be in every state in the U.S. because it would help slow down the spread of the virus a lot if everyone would just wear a mask.

Trump is wearing his mask so that way he can protect others and himself and he can use that to advantage to encourage other people to wear masks too that way we don't have loads of people not wearing mask because they don't want to and get the coronavirus.
I think that it shouldn't be required all around the U.S. because not all places are jam packed with people like calfornia or texas or Colorado but also because people have a right to not too if they are not surrounded by people or by others within a couple feet.
i feel like the mask should be worn everywhere till we now the the corona is going away or gone other wise we risk getting it and making corona big again and we dont want that so in my opion the mask should be wore everywhere till we know that everything is ok and that we wont get sick
Personally I think Trump is wearing a mask for his safety and to protect others. He probably started realizing that the virus is serious and since most people are wearing masks to protect themselves he should to. Also, I dont think mask madates should be required. I still feel that people should have the choice to wear masks or not. There are people that are strongly against masks because of their religion, etc.
I think that Trump is wearing a mask for his safety and at first he may have thought that the virus wasn't that serious until cases kept on going up everyday. He might have just thought that since i'm the Presdient I should were a mask for my saftey and other people's safety. I think that everyone should wear a mask if you are going to a public place so we can stop spreading the virus.
I disagree with you that Trump is wearing it for his safety. How could he think that the virus wasn't as serious when so many people were dying in places like New York. In June we still had the most cases in the world. So I just don't understand his inconsistencies.
Yes, I think that Trump wears a mask for popularity and for the photo opportunity. Obviously, he doesn't feel masks are very important to help stop the spread of the coronavirus because he hasn't made a mask mandate, like most other leaders have done for their country. He also wasn't seen wearing a mask until later during the pandemic, again showing he really doesn't care to wear a mask for the safety of others, rather because he feels it will make him look better. Trump claiming that he doesn't want to issue a mask mandate because he wants people to have "a certain freedom" is also to appeal to his supporters, who have been widely known for refusing to wear a mask in public, claiming "it is an infringment on their rights". Mandating a public safety protocol does not take away any freedoms and Trump claiming a freedom will be lost by wearing a mask just goes to show he is really only trying to appeal to people on the mask issue.
I agree with you on everything that you said, if people don't want to get told to wear a mask then why don't they just wear them. It makes zero sense how people will say they don't want to get told to wear a mask, but if they just wore a mask they wouldn't get told to wear one.
I also think there are many examples of the government mandating safety measures on us in everyday life, so it's not like doing something for the sake of public health/safety because the government told us to is new. Seatbelts are a great example of this. You have to wear a seatbelt, otherwise you'll get fined. People refusing to wear a mask because it "takes away their freedom" are really just making a big deal of a small inconvience, especially when it's legitmately proven to save lives and protect others.
