Does Carson have what it takes to be incharge?

Doctor Ben Carson was virtually tied for leading the Republican Candidacy with Donald Trump until after terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino. He has recently been dropping his percentage of votes from citizens accusing him of "not being ready to take on responsibility in Foreign Policy." He has answered to this by giving his opinion and the actions that he would take if he was Commander in Chief. He explains how America needs to tackle the ISIS situation by focusing on there financial connections and disrupting there online servers to further prevent people to be persuaded into radical actions. He also states how we need to occupy the 4 main ways in and out of ISIS's central command headquarters in Raaqa. Carson also answers questions on how we should deal with problems that caused the San Bernardino shootings.

Here is the full story.

Questions:

1. Do you agree with Ben Carson's views on dealing with these situations?

2. Is there anything else that you think America should do to better our current problems?

I agree with most of what Carson says. Not because I'm a supporter to his campaign but because it is logical that we deal with ISIS head on. His points are fair and productive to dealing with this situation. If I were to add anything to his solutions I would say that we should station troops in ISIS controlled territories so that we can try to take control and take away there resources and advantages. This will also be a concern for troops and their families because we just pulled them out of Iraq, but when America intervenes and keeps control then once we left the spread of ISIS and Jihadist radicals has increased. We can't lighten up or else more attacks will soon happen. Attacks on our soil.

  • Good summary but you didn't reply to any student comments. You also only did one story.

  • I like most of what Carson says, I'm not a supporter of the majority of the campaigns this year only because of their thoughts on the ISIS topic and how everyone thinks that the Muslims are the problem and that all Islamic people are terrorists. Islams and Muslims are not the problem, the bad people in their country are the problems. I feel like letting Syrian refugees into the country will also allow ISIS terrorists in. I think that America has a lot to improve on with our current problems.

  • While it's great that he wants to cut off their online servers, it's going to take more than that to stop Isis. I feel that America should send in ground troops. While I don't want any of our soldiers to die, they joined the military knowing that they may one day have to fight. Isis needs to be stopped and as a world power, America needs to do something about it.

  • I agree on a few views of some of the nation's problems but not all that Ben Carson has to say. I believe we do what is best for our protection and if this is what is then we should go all in.

  • Even though I don't agree with Carson on much, I do think that the U.S. needs to focus on cutting off ISIS's resources and hacking their servers to prevent the self-radicalization of people around the world via internet. For months we have tried bombing ISIS headquarters, getting little results, and I don't think that putting soldiers on the ground will entirely end this war either, for the real war is being waged on the internet. ISIS is one of the most pressing threats towards America as of late and I agree with parts of Carson's plan on how to deal with them.

  • I personally think that Carson would be a responsible President and has what it takes to get America back on track. I think that he is intelligent and knows what he is doing. That being said, if his weakness is foreign policy, he can pick a running-mate that is very strong in this area. I definitely think that ISIS and illegal immigration are at the top of the list of America's problems.

  • I am a big supporter of Ben Carson. He's got some good ideas and we need another Christian president in our country to bring God back into our lives and restore our country to its former great self.

  • I do agree with Carson's views on these situation because we have put boots on the ground before and the terrorists have found a way to survive. By cutting off their resources hopefully we can take them out. For the current debt problem we have to actually cut government spending, not say we will and then spend more. It's interesting that people blame him for not making a statement on the situation, but perhaps he is just being respectful and not trying to use tragedy to boost his campaign.
