I think we should, if not that, salute the ones that died on this day. We can get out on Mlk day, but we can't get out on 9-11, when thousands died that day?

If they ever decide to make it into a national holiday, then sure. But if it stills remains a non- holiday, then no. We are only supposed to get out on holidays or pre-planned professional development days. I don't think any schools, even the ones in New York, get out that day. I think teachers should raise attention to it on that day though, like say the Pledge of Allegiance, or something.
yes i do.. that is a major day in US history and its vitally important. Its a sad day and i think that people would stop and think about it more if we got the day off
I think maybe the schools in the area of the Twin Towers should have the choice to get out on 9-11, because it obviously affected them more. But as for us, living waaaay over in Iowa, I don't think we should. For one thing, 9-11 was a tragedy; not an excuse.
I agree with you i think it would be fine if we took a day off in memory of everybody who died and the firefighters and peramedics and police officers who gave their lives trying to save people.
