Pollution is something that we have been hearing about for a long time, but in the past few years it has gotten worse. According to the State of air, 40% of Americans are living in a place with unhealthy levels of particle pollution. All this pollution can come from driving your vehicle, industries, wildfires, etc. One of my thoughts on pollution is how it reacted to Covid. Because first I think about how everyone needed to stay in their houses, this means you can’t go to your work, you don’t use your car, some industries stop working and flights decrease, all of these were things that generated pollution. This made that in some cities the air quality improved.
My second thought was that we had to add something else to our everyday routine if we wanted to go outside and what I’m talking about is a mask. Millions of people started using masks, but specifically disposable face masks, which means you use it for a day or for some hours and you throw it away. Imagine all the pollution masks have made. A study made by OceansAsia estimated that over 1.5 billion masks are believed to be in the ocean. Also with all the pandemic situation we needed to use way more medical stuff than we were using in the past. All this medical stuff generates more trash which at the end would create more pollution. I think Covid increased pollution more than decreased it.
Some ways that you can help the planet are by getting solar panels. The only problem with this is that not everyone can get them because they are expensive, you can also stop using plastic bags and replace them with cloth bags or tote bags, these are an easy way to stop the use of plastic. Another way is no more plastic straws. I think that places that are specifically on the coasts are starting to change this and try something more ecologic like paper or bamboo. Straws were usually found in the ocean and in animals which sometimes caused their death, this caused governments to take action on this, in some cities plastic straws are banned such as Washington, Miami and Malibu. I think governments should give more importance on making small changes that can give big results. I think they need to promote more about the importance of this, and how we are going to kill our planet if we continue like this.

I believe that covid helped reduce pollution, but also increase it. Covid decreased pollution because a lot less people were using their cars and getting on airplanes. Covid also increased pollution because of the masks. The disposable masks have been disposed in anything but the trash cans. I've personally seen so many masks on the groud when there's a trash can nearby.
Plastic bags should be banned. We should use resuable bags instead of the flimsy plastic ones. I personally have so many plastic bags that it's ridiculous. The government should do more initiatives to help reduce pollution. Soon the pollution is going to get to the point where we're not going to be able to reverse it and cause the planet to die.
I agree with you that plastic bags should be banned. We can use a more ecological bag and it's cheap and has the same use as one of plastic. I also think that the government should bring new ideas on how to reduce pollution because we are at the point where if we don't make a change it won't be reversed.
I think covid increased population because of everyone that wore those masks and left them everywhere. Plastic bags should not be banned because they are very useful and we use them everyday. Plastic bags should not be banned they are used in everyday life.
I think it help reduced mostly because the less emissions being produced into the air. If plastic bags were banned I wouldn't be mad because my family likes to use reusable bags for grocery. Although, I do use them for my small trash cans and reuse them that way. I would not be opposed to more laws to help our planet.
I agree with you making small changes in our lives it's something we can all do, but we need more information on what we can do. The government should bring more ideas and laws to help reduce pollution.
I personally think that is helped to decrease our pollution. Even though the masks have caused a lot of trash to build up in the ocean and in other areas, I think that the air pollution was decreased more. Almost everyone started working from home and started going to stores less. People started ordering more online and started using their cars less. I personally think that had more of an impact than the masks did.
Covid helped decrease pollution when everyone was quarentined in 2020. Nobody could really go anywhere therefore there were less cars on the road. There were less people to be outside littering their fast food wrappers because fast food places were closed.
I think that covid made polution increase because a lot of people wore paper masks and they were leaving them around everywhere and they used reusable ones to and left them everywhere. I don't think that plastic bags should be banned but we need to not let them fly everywhere.
I think we should at least think twice when we are going to use a plastic bag because I feel that sometimes you just waste them. Also I think using something more ecological would be better and it's not a difficult thing to do.
plastic bags are a normal part of almost everyones life whether your grocery shopping and or picking up trash or throwing something out like clothes or toys. Your go to bag is a simple plastic bag that your parents got from the store that you keep under the sink i assume. I think life would be a struggle and so i dont believe they should be banned.
