A charter school is a school that receives government funding but still operates separately from state established schools. The point of a charter school is to provide more opportunitites for students, parents, and even teachers, in the hope to improve and increase learning opportunities for students, especially for those who identify as academically low achieving. They provide more options for educational opportunities.
Charter schools have the ability to specilalize in particular areas, giving students classes that match with their interests. This often helps students become more invested in their education. At a charter school they still have to follow the major regulations and laws that a traditional public school does, but they can devote more energy and resources into something to help students achieve their goals. These schools often have smaller class sizes, allowing students for more on-one-one to get the help they need.
Although charter schools sound pretty good, there are some cons. Most charter schools are pretty small, and there have been many cases of charter schools lacking quality education that some may need, especially children with disabilities. They can also be more selective with their students. Parents also need to be more involved in the school and are sometimes asked to donate large amounts of money. The research shows that charter schools are lacking innovation, which was the main goal for them.
I personally don’t support charter schools. Although it is true some of them show positive research, the majority of them show that they are having a negative impact on students. Instead of spending government money on charter schools, we should be spending it to improve our public schools. We are wasting money on something that is lacking innovation, and is doing nothing to help our community. I just don’t think our government should be supporting any type of privatized schools.

I personally don't think I would send my kid to a charter school unless they truely wanted to and truely were smart enough. If my child was an average student I wouldn't want them to go to a charter school because they probably wouldn't do well in it. I think they are ineffective because I think they just want money.
I think charter schools are 50/50 I feel it could benefit and it could also not benefit. If my child was very serious about their education I would let them go to a charter school, but if they weren't I would not send them because they probably wouldn't do well.
honestly if i was a parent I dont know what I would do. because I might be working alot to pay bills, not having time to be there as offten as the charter schools might like. One other facter is if charter schools want donations I wouldnt have much to give because i work to just keep up on bills if I might be lucky. There are alot of facters you would have to think about in making a decision like that.
In my opinions charter schools have their positives side and negative side, for example, they are more especially in helping students that have trouble finding their path that's best fit to them but, the bad part is that they take a lot of, money that can be used to help more students in public schools.
In my opinion charter schools are not as necessarily bad as people think it is. It allows students to discover themselves, choose their goals and improve it. Lot of American highschool students are unaware of what is going on around them, and they don't know themselves, so i think charter schools might be a good proposal to it. Plus i do think government should spend it's money to education as much as possible.
I don't support charter schools because it's taking money from the government. The may help some kids in learning but of course not all so it's kinda a waste if it's not helping all of them. I bet charter schools do help some kids a lot but they don't help all of the kids so a bunch of cash is taken from the government to just give to kids that will be wasted.
I feel that it is cool that you get to pick what you want to do in a charter school. The thing that gets me though is the fact that you may not get what you need to learn. The school is kind of in between innefective and effective in the education process to me. I personally probably would not put my kid into a charter school.
I agree with you and how we should be using the money from the government to focus more on public schools as there are many problems that come along with the charter schools. Also I think it is unfair as you get to pick and choose the courses you would like to take and that doesn't seem right to me.
I don't think charter schools are fair. I feel like if you are at a lower academic level than others, you should still be able to recieve the same learning opprotunites that other kids have, so you can improve and become better. I feel like they are effective especially since they are put in a class they don't like. I don't think I would send my kid to a charter school because I feel like the learning environment would be a lot different, the a public school.
I do think that charter schools are a good thing because the kids can go to school for what they want and not have to be in classes that they don't like. Lots of kids don't like school and they want classes that they like and that are actually gonna help them in the future. Not all classes in school will help with your future so everyoen thinks they are useless classes.
