There are a few reliable reports that President Lincoln predicted his own death. One of these sources was his law partner/part-time body guard who reported that the President told a small group of friends that he had a dream where he walked into a room with a covered body and everyone was mourning. When he asked a mourner what was going on, he was told that the president was assasinated. Although later on Lincoln insisted that it was not his body on display. Mary Lincoln also confirmed that honest Abe told this story.
Abraham Lincoln was also reported to have an avid belief in dream meanings. He was reported to of told his wife to take away his sons pistol because he had a bad dream about it. The morning before his assasination he said that he had a dream where he floated across a body of water at a "great speed", and as we all know he was killed later that day at Fords theatre.
What would you do if you knew exactly how you would die?
What would you do if you were in that small group when Lincoln predicted his death?
If you could learn exactly when you died, would you take that opportunity or not?

Good topic choice but your summary is a bit brief and you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points.
I don't want to know when or how I will die. That thought terrifies me, and I would never be able to live a normal llife. If president Lincoln told me that prediction and then died, I would believe him. I think stuff like that, like predicting things in your dreams, astral projecting, etc, is very interesting and plausible.
i think i wouldn't worry to much of it because i would know when i die and how i die. If I was with Lincoln i would have thought it wasn't a big deal so i would have talked to him a little bit about it. I would take opportuniy because I would know when i was about to die so i wouldn't be doing anything important at the moment of my death.
I don't think I would want to know when I would die. I think it would just make you sad and the days would slowly creep up on you. Even if you did know the exact time and day you died I don't think you can avoid it. If I was in the room with Lincoln I probably wouldn't think that much about it because bad dreams happen sometimes, but if I was a bodyguard for him I would pay closer attention that day.
If I knew how I was going to die I would be kinda freaked out, especially when the time came. I would be very surprised if somone predicted how they would die, and then actually be assasinated several days later. But I would think that this action was just a coincidence.
In my opinion, if I knew when I died, I would probably try to avoid the situation that led to my death. I would probably live in fear of dying. I would probably not think that Lincoln's dream was a true story. I would probably just brush it off my shoulder. I think that people's dreams don't usually mean anything. Most people do not think about their dreams after they wake up for the day. I would also probably not take the opportunity to learn exactly when I die.
If I knew how I was going to die, I would do my best to avoid the situations that would lead up to my death. If I was within the group of friends that Lincoln was talking to about the dream, I would not have believed that he was being truthful. If I had the chance to discover when I am going to die, I would not take it.
I would try and plan for it because i dont think that you could prevent your own death. I would have believed him and increased sucrity around him so that the prediction doesnt come true. I would take the opportunity to see my own death because i would want to prepare for it and insure that im ready.
