On Febuary 28 Dick's CEO issued at letter in which he announced that his company had caved to the demands of anti-gun extremists and adopted a raft of self-imposed gun controls. A spokesperson for the Pennsylvania-based retail chain told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, that the company is “in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change.” The report noted that the unsold merchandise is being moved to the company’s distribution centers where it is being destroyed. What’s left of the ruined firearms is then being sold for scrap. Due to this some of dicks employees willl be laid off due to this. Crazy to think that a store that started out as a tackle store in 1948 came to selling things for all sports.

I understand where the store is coming from because there is a lot of debate about gun violence and I think that Dick's is just trying to make things safer by getting rid of these guns. I think that the other gun stores will benefit from this, because now they can have more customers and less competition with stores.
1.) I understand why they want to do that and at some part I even agree with them. I'm not a big fan of guns and especially now where there is another law, they should do something.
2.) I think it'll help all the other store that sell guns because now they'll have one less competetive store.
I think they can and I can understand why they decided to do this because there are a lot of people that go into a rage with guns and that needs to change. If a customer were to buy a gun and then shoot a school up they would be on the line if something was sold the wrong way. I think it will make it tough but its all for a reason and they sell plenty of other things so they will still be open.
I think that Dicks should give the arms and amo to the military who would be able to make good use of the weapons instead of just destroying it all. I think the gun manufactures will then be able to focus on military reproduction of weapons.
They could try to sell it to other companies instead of just scrapping it. They will get less business because more companies will start selling less guns like dick's.

1) NO! I do not think Dicks should destroy all the guns and magazines because they do serve some good in our world. I know everything has gone down about the school shooting and everything, but guns give people enjoyment like hunting, and they can be used as personal protection.

I think that they should do whatever they want with the guns because they bought them from the companys and just giving them back would make them lose money and burning them would make them lose money also but it just depends on what they want to do with them.
