Diana Nyad turns 63 today!

The long distance swimmer Diana Nyad turns 63 today! She is most famous for trying to swim from Cuba to Florida with out a shark cage. During her latest attempt she was pulled from the water because of a storm that was swiftly approaching and because of severe jelly fish stings. Two kayakers paddled beside her with shark repellent coming from their kayaks. The picture shows Diana after she finally exited the water.

  • I think that she is amazing! She's in her 60's and still trying to swim all that way. Her dedication is outstanding. I hope that the jelly fish stings aren't too severe. I hope she is safe and healthy.

  • I am impressed with her dedication. She had tried four times! I mean, for a woman of her age that is amazing! I think she really believes to live life to the fullest! She is most defiantly is. You go girl. :) I hope she didn't get to hurt and gets better!

  • i think she is a trooper! she is a in her 60s and is attempting that?! i hope she gets better and can hopefully finish her dream.

  • I am very impressed that at her age she would be swimming such distances! She must have a lot of "life" left in her! I don't believe that I could do something. She is more prone to such accidents, but hopefully she can stay safe...and maybe use a shark cage...don't want to die from a shark bite etc!

  • Great job with this artical, and did u know it was also her fourth attempt at trying to swim from Cuba to Florida?

    • Really?! I did not! that makes it even more incredible!

  • i think its cool that she tried even though she was in her 60's its to bad that she had to get hurt. I hope she gets better and isnt hurt to badly.
