A California Congressman, Brad Sherman, is reintroducing impeachment articles that he filed back in 2017. Sherman himself has stated that there is a multitude of reasons for Trump's impeachment to be instated. When Sherman filed in 2017, the White House Press Secretary dissmissed the articles as "utterly and completely ridiculous." Although there may be reasons to impeach Trump, it seems to be absolutely pointless over halfway through his term as president. I would dare to say he hasn't commited any "cardinal sins" because he has been working to make what a majority of americans wished, which is why he was indirectly voted in to begin with. What he has done for out economy has been generally beneficial, but with every up, comes with downs. His ideas may seem radical, but you have to weigh in that there have been other presidents, like roosevelt, who have also put in radical ideas, and were praised for it. Ideas like Big Stick Diplomacy, which would seem apalling today, worked very well in the early 1900's.  Sherman himself belives “In all of this, Donald John Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as president and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.” Only time will tell if The House of Representatives will proceed with the legal documents of sherman himself.

Do you believe Trump has commited any crimes worth impeachment? If so, state why

Although Trump is not the most upstanding individual, I sincerely think Trump has not commited any "crimes" worth this high punishment.  I think if any criminal proceedings are wished to be held against him, they should follow through after he has left office.

Would the House of Representatives be able run The Articles through Supreme Court? What would be the Difficulties?

If they recieve the criminal evidence worth an impeachment, anything is possible. There may be more to the story than what the common-person is being told, much of which may be witheld for "safety." Although I would see problems with this running through the supreme court as they have been leaning republican for the past few years, and may be able to find a chink in the armor.

  • Good summary! Be sure to keep commenting throughout the week.

  • I believe Trump has commited some crimes, but it may not be enough to impeach him. I dont believe in many of Trumps policies, one being his trade war with China. Farmers are being hurt, forcing some midwest farms to file for bankruptcy. The Government shutdown is also starting hurt farmers by threatening aid. At the beginning of the shutdown Trump claimed responsibility but after a couple of days tried to shift the blame to the Democrats. Trumps actions have split America and embarresed the United States on the global level.

With time they maybe able to impeach Trump, but they would need the evidence to do so. Right now there is no evidence of serious crimes but eventually I believe they may surface. Some Republicans dont like Trump so that could also affect the outcome.

  • Only crime Trump has commited is by not being in office longer! All these libtards and democrats always crying and complaining about Trump because hes the only president that CANT BE BOUGHT. He has his own mind and don't take no for an answer. if we want to see change in this country, we need to stop hiding behind CNN and actually do something about it. Hop on the Trump train!

    2. Theres no proof of any crime that calls for impeachment, therefore, no.

  • I don't think anybody really knows all that Trump does besides himself. I don't know enough information to judge whether or not he has committed any crimes worth impeachment. I feel as if anything is possible but that doesn't mean doing it is the right thing; that being said the house of representatives being able to run the articles through supreme court is a decision one cannot make on a mere thought.

  • I don't think that Trump is popular. A good number of American citizens are against him and all the decisions he is making. I think it is important to remember that he was voted in. The people ultimately chose him. I don't believe that Trump has committed crimes worth impeachment. While he has been president, Trump has taken action and accomplished many things. I think that most of the accusations arise because of the dislike that people have for him. If there is anything worth accusing him of, I agree that it should be taken care of after Trump's presidency has ended.

    • You're right, even if voted into office indirectly, it was technically the people who chose trump. Although I would say that over time, people have come to disagree, or even regret the choice they made in 2016. What he has done is mostly beneficial, but he has not been a perfect president, nor has really any man who has held this high of office.

  • The only thing that Trump has done was hurt peoples feelings, that is why he is a good president. Blunt ruling is not a crime unless he is acting as a dictator, which he is not. Trump has helped America in more ways than one and impeachment about a year before a new election is nonsense. If the Democrat from California filed the impeachment back in 2017, then why didn't he try then? This congressman was just waiting for some dirt to be shed on Trump and that is not clean politics.

    • Good point. Trump is not acting like a dictator, which therefore does not necessarily require action, and the fact that they do wait for news to act upon is not a moral method, because it shows how weak the newspaper clippings that he holds onto are, with him needing more biased results in order to form some sort of unreasonable and worthless article based for Trump's impeachment.

  • I do not believe that Trump has commited any serious crimes worthy of impeachment.

I don't think anything serious will come out of this because there is no solid evidence, plus the supreme court has been leaning republican recently, like you said.

    • Although your reply may be short, it is to the point. I've already stated that I agree with everything you say, and with no solid evidence against Trump, besides current court proceedings in place, there should really be no reason to impeach trump, and it should definitely not be this close to the re-election, because they should have done this in 2017 when the proceedings were first filed.
