November 8 was a shock for this country and many Democrats after they lost the House, Senate, and the White House at the same time. With Barack Obama approval ratings so high it was definitely shocking, Hillary will still win the popular vote but because some many white rule american showed up and turned out the electoral college went to Trump. Many Democrats were shocked when people who voted for him in 2008 voted for Trump. With democrats losing Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania it really showed Hillary did not connect with working voters. This does not mean the end for democrats as we still won the popular vote just lost on November 8th.

I think that we should keep the electoral college, because If you win the popular vote then most likely win the electoral vote. I think that allot of the the people from rual areas voted for Trump, because they didn't want Hillary in office and Trump was for the working class and helping create jobs.
I think that the United States should keep the electoral college, because in most cases the candidate who wins the popular vote wins the electoral college vote. I think that many rual Americans voted for Trump, because he appealed to the working class citizens and was working on creating jobs.
In some states, such as California, Trump supporters thought their vote wouldn’t matter in terms of electoral college, so they simply didn’t vote. We cannot ever completely give up the electoral college, we might as well just let California decide the outcome of the election then. The electoral college is flawed, and it needs major reform, but it can’t be disregarded altogether.
Trump won because of something referred to as the “silent majority”. Many people supported Trump, but never spoke up because they were afraid of being ridiculed. Instead, those people spoke the loudest by voting on November 8th.
Also, neither candidate has been given Michigan yet, and I also think it leans democrat. Whether Hillary wins Michigan or not, she will still lose the electoral college vote.
I do not like the electoral college. I do not see how it benefits anyone. If anything, it gives more power to the more populated states because they have more of a say in who wins the election. If the president was really decided on the people, then the electoral college would not exist. I believe it should be based on the popular vote. That way, everyone's voice is heard and your voice is not just muffled by the way your state votes. I think many Americans thought that Trump would be better because he has no experience in politics so he is "normal". The ironic thing is, he is basically nothing like the majority of Americans. He is one of the richest males in the US. It would make sense for him to do things that would benefit people like him: white, rich males.
I think that the United States should keep the Electoral College because in the past 240 years there has only been 4 instances where the popular vote and electoral vote were not the same.
I think it is a smart idea to have an electoral college. I believe in the old laws that the first Americans had, and this was one of them. I think this system is somewhat flawed, but it has the ability to pick the better president most of the time.
I do not really like the Electoral College. I would rather they use the popular vote. If a candidate wins the popular vote, clearly most of the United States wants that candidate for president and they should be the one to become the new president.
I feel that it does help the smaller states but, like we saw in this election. the person who America like the most didn't win and i think that will affect trump
