Deer can now carry covid

With all the other animals that can carry covid, you can now add deer to that list. Not just any deer, it is said to be white tailed deer. There was recently testing of white tailed deer and about one third of them that were tested were said to be positive for covid. White tailed deer are all over this country, there are almost 30 million of them. When some of the deer were tested, they also found that some of them had antibodies. Researchers do not know how deer came to have covid. They think that it might be from people or other animals that can carry covid. Hunters are supposed to now be more careful after they hunt a white tailed deer, to make sure they don’t get covid. You are supposed to wear latex gloves after you kill a deer to protect yourself from covid.

This really sucks that whitetail deer had to get covid but it was bound to happen if all the other animals in the world were getting it too. I think the deer were exposed to covid from other animals carrying it. It seems like all animals are starting to get covid now, so it is probably easy for them to get exposed.

Are you going to wear gloves after you kill a deer, if so why or why not?

Would you be hesistent to eat the deer meat?

How do you think the deer got exposed to covid?

  • Your topic if fine and you did a good job replying to people Drew. I will say that your summary is a bit on the brief side. Also be sure to include your sources.

  • I don't go out and do any hunting so I wouldnt have to worry about killing a dear but if I did I would probably wear gloves anyway. Also I don't eat dear meat so I don't think I have to worry about it being in dear meat.

  • I personally do not hunt but if I had I probably would wear gloves. I do not eat deer meat in general so whether they can get covid or not I would not eat deer meat.  I think deer get exposed to covid from other animals that can get covid.

  • Personally, I do not hunt so I won't kill a dear. But if I would i would definitely not wear gloves because i think this is dumb that this is a thing. I would not be scared to eat the dear meat. I do not really know how dear would get exposed to covid.

  • I wouldnt bother to wear gloves when harvesting the meat off of a deer because I do no think that covid is much of a threat to me at least. I would definetly take no percausions around deer and just continue eating the meat as if covid wasint a thing.

    • I agree most people dont' get that sick from covid.  I wouldn't use gloves either because I wouldn't even think about covid.  And I would still eat the meat too.  I would probably cook it good though.

  • If I was to kill a deer I wouldn't really care about wearing gloves because I don't think of covid as too much of a threat because I have already had it but, it could be a different varient of the virus. I would definetly got the deer meet processed and blood checked before I eat it. I think they probably ate a different animal that was exposed somehow and got covid.

    • I agree, if you have had it you probably aren't going to get it again.  And I don't think we will get it from animals very easy.  I think they get a different kind.

  • I don't hunt so no. However if I did, I would probably not wear gloves. I would probably be hesistent to eat it though. I think eating it would do more harmful then touching it if it did anything at all.

    • I disagree about eating it,  You get covid from breathing it.  Not eating it.  The stomach acids would kill the virus.
