For seventeen hours from Saturday night through Sunday, scores were slaughered, shot or were hiding for there lives from six Taliban operatives that stored Kabul's luxury Intercontinental Hotel. People say the attack what wiht some help with people from the inside.

Multiple officals and sources on the ground say that three of the attackers entered the hotel through the VIP-only gate with is reserved from government officials and high-ranking diplmats only, in an armored SUV. The entrance requires a pre-clearace and rarely-distributed VIP pass issued by the hotel administration, one offical said. They bypassed on additional scans and checks also.

Investigator Sanjar Sohail said "Without having help from the inside, there is no way passing through four checkpoints would been possible," The 'well-dressed" attackers were able to enter the hotel throudh the kitchen, thus bypassing the standard body-scanning procedure and launch their shooting rampage, seeming to know the layout of the hotel. Reports say that more than 40 people were killed.

Questions:

1.Do you think that the people had some help from the inside to pull this off?

I think that they did because if they got pass 4 security checks and were still able to get through them without being caught then someone had to help them out.

2.What would you do if you were inside when this happened?

I would try and take cover or hide so I do not get shot by the people, but if I was inside the building while this was happening then I would stay were I was because I would not want to get hurt or shot.

  • Well done Jordan!

  • 1. Yes I do. I think that there was some secret terrorists inside of the building to help the shooters get through, especially when they bypassed all of the security and got inside with no problem.

    2. I would be very scared and try to hide and try to do something to help the people I'm with find a hiding spot or a way of evacuating the building. I would feel very angry afterwards at the Taliban for doing such a thing.

  • I think they did, because they got through all of the security and nothing happened to them, so someone had to have helped them through. I would try to ge tout without being caught or killed by one of the terrorists.

  • I think they must of had help from someone on the inside. I find it impossible ot believe they got through that many security checks without help.  If I were inside I would probably try to find a place to hide. Then if I had my phone and they weren't close enough to hear me I would call  the police.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if the Taliban had help from employees to get into the hotel, especially if they were able to pass through all security without issue. If I was inside I would try to find a close exit and if I couldn't, I would hide from the soldiers.

    • Ya sometimes terrorist groups would take a role on stuff like this. Ya most people would hide or go away from the people that are trying to attack you, and also they needed some help to get passed the security.

  • I think they almost had to have help from the inside because there were so many procedures to go through to get inside doing this alone would be incredibly difficult. If I were in the hotel I would have tried to hide and find somewhere to stay safe until they would leave.

    • Ya they took a chance and somehow it worked out because it would have been dificult to do this even if they had help. Most of the time there would have been some type of security to help this out.

  • Yes i think it is vary clear that they had inside help because i they dident they probley wouldent have got in as easy as they did and they probly wouldent know the layout vary well. If i was inside i would try to get away or hide.

    • I agree with you on that they had help inside otherwise they would not have known the layout of the hotel, and if it was a big hotel then it would have taken sometime to get where you needed to go.
