Deadly Deep Water Dive

Nicholas Mevoli, who lived in Brooklyn borough died around 2 p.m. He died off the coast of the Bahamas' Long Island trying to set the free-diving record. Mevoli reached the 72-meter depth with  no fins, he swam back to the surface but had troubles breathing while completing surface protocol and then he lost consciousness. Do you think this is kind of a dangerous sport. Would you ever do this sport if you trained for it.
