Deadly Bus crash in Spain

Story- It was a regular Sunday morning in Spain until this bus holding 57 passengers crashed into another car. 13 were claimed dead and 34 were injured. Many exchange students were on this bus. "The students were on their way to Barcelona, coming back from the 'Fallas' festivity in Valencia," Erasmus said in a statement. They were students at Catalan University and their bus was one of five returning from Valencia, Catalan officials said. This accident took place on a highway near Freginals, in Catalonia. As of Sunday night, the police still had to identify most of the 13 dead.

My input- I feel so bad for the family members of the foreign exchange students. I don’t know what I would do as a parent knowing that it was the last time seeing them. Could not imagine what those families are going through. I would like to know more about this story, but this all that has been released.

Questions- What would be going through your mind as a parent?

Have you ever heard of anything like this accident before?

  • Good overall. I do think your questions could be stronger.

  • I would be worried sick as to whether or not my child had passed since they were foreign exchange students and I would have had direct contact with them. I have never heard of an accident like this before.

  • If I was a parent I would want to know a lot more about what happened, I would want to know why the bus driver wasn't careful and more things like that. I have not heard of anything happening like this before. I think that it is really weird that something like this happened.

  • Something like this happening is terrible. If I was a parent, I would want to know more detail to what happened in this accident. There doesn't seem to be that much information released, but maybe the parents of the students have more knowledge.

    • That's what I was thinking too. There hasn't been much info yet but I would like to know more!

  • Are my child okay. Yes, honestly it not that much different than a normal car crash other than the fact that many more were involve in the crash.

  • I would be so scared and wanting to know if my kid is still alive and okay. Also making sure he gets the help he needs if he is hurt! Like this I mean not full of exchanged students I haven't.

    • I would also be so scared Abie! Knowing that my child was on this bus, would be so hard!

  • I would be so scared for my child not knowing if they are dead or alive. If they are alive, I wouldn't want them to be struggling to stay alive. I wouldn't want that for my child.

    • Me either! I would definitely have to fly to Spain and see what was going on with my child.
