A new study says just that. 62 percent of distrached driving accidents are thnks to daydreaming while only 12 percent are texting or cell phone related. Distracted driving is anything that takes your eyes off the road and/ or your hands off the wheel. 65,000 fatal car accidents took place in 2011 and 2012. About 10 percent of those deaths fell into the distracted driving column.
I am actually a little shocked by this. Maybe everything telling people about how dangerous texting and driving is actually works.

If people are daydreaming while behind the wheel, they probably need a bit more sleep at night. I do not go out if i am tired for fear of that.
This is so correct because i day dream when i drive and i have caught myself vering off to the side of the road it is very dangerous
I don't think it should really matter what form of distracted driving is demonstrated. People just shouldn't drive distracted whatsoever.
I wrote about this too and I can see why this can be worse than texting. I dont drive much, so i dont daydream alot while driving. But if you drive the same path everyday I can see why people start daydreaming.
woah! day dreaming?!? then theres texting! and sneezing! HOly cow! people need to be alert at all times when driving a car or controlling the wheel of something! you wouldnt want to take the life of some else or yours! scary!!!!!!!

Texting driving, drinking driving, daydreaming and drviing or anything else is just bad it causes problems just wait til lyou get to wherer your going to do that stuff.
I have thought about what would happen to me if I was daydreaming while I was driving a car. I would probably drift into the other lane, and get into a head-on -collision with an oncoming car.
i believe it. it's so easy to get thinking about something and get so side tracked!
This honestly doesnt surprise me at all. When you daydream you just kinda look all over the place and dont pay attention. Yes texting is dangerous but you also look up and the road every once in awhile.
