With the Tiger King doing very well on Netflix right now, I thought I would put out a video touching on the exotic animal trade. Please watch the video and share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
Google Slides link if Youtube video doesn't work
I am available via email pretty much all day, including weekends. I will also be available in the chat room on my website whenever I am on my website. Feel free to ask questions there as well.
Thanks!
Other things to do:
--I will leave the last two weeks learning opportunities open. Feel free to read and reply to them as well. They are still on the message board.
--I will allow CWI/USH students to add their own current event stories they would like to discuss on the forum. Since I can't grade anything, all personal comments will not count towards your official froum post count during this time. I think it's important to keep up with the events of the world.
--Practice the Asian maps. The test will be about four days after we come back
--Feel free to take advantage of the extra credit opportunities I allow for(30 point max per quarter). I officially can't accept extra credit during the break, but you can stockpile them for when you come back. And if we don't come back, keep it for next year in US/World History(if you have me).

It's breaks my heart to see the animals being taken out of their proper habitat and transported to places that they shouldn't be. It's surprising just how big of an issue this problem is, and I really wish people would realize the problems they are causing to both the animal's environment and to the animal itself. People are trying to domesticate these animals that are not supposed to be domesticated, and then they get injured when the animals listen to their natural instict and attack them. I don't understand how people can cause this hurt to animals. I don't think they truly understand the emotional and physical damage they are causing to the animal by taking it out of its proper habitat. It's disgusting to hear how some people treat these precious animals as nothing more than a money-making deal. They consider it a sport to hunt these endangered animals, and the scary thing is that they see nothing wrong with doing so. I wish they would understand the harm they are causing.
I agree 100%. There are a lot of bad people in this world that all they care about is $$$$.
I think that it's sad that people abuse their exotic animals. Honestly, having exotic animals at all is giving the animals a worse way of life. They could be roaming around in their natural habitat and get their own food and be where they're supposed to be, but people are keeping them captive. If people that owned the animals actually took care of them it would make it a little better but you can't count on everyone to do what it right. What I really think is wrong it shooting exotic animals. I have no problem with people hunting in general. However, killing exotic animals (some of which may be endangered) is going too far.
I have not patience with people that think having exotic animals is cool and ok to do. Ultimatley, all it is is cruel to what the animals should really be doing. Oh, and then people are schocked when these animals attack their owners. Thanks for your comments.
