I do agree that those old books shouldn't be sold anymore, racism is just obviously unnecessary. Now the fact that people are considering the cat in the hat racist I'm not so sure about. I think people might be overreacting and looking way to far into this children's book.
I severly disagree with removing old suess books, although "racist" undertones allegedly riddle some of his books, he never truly made intentionally racist comments. Removing books because they've racist undertones would be awful, and would remove old, great books from shelves and people would never have the chance to read them because of a small seemingly racist passage.
Gettnig rid of the Dr. Suess books is nonsence. I don't understand how this could be racist all of a sudden. This is happening because of all the BLM stuff. Kids enjoy these books and now they are basically getting taught what rasism is. This should not be happening!
I believe that this theory of Dr. Suess is at least a little bit far fetched. I don't understand why even in children's books, there is no escape from politics. If thought about enough, anything can be offensive and in this day and age, we have to be so careful of what we do or son't say. These books were not written in this time, however. I think the books should remain avalible to children but have the choice not to read it, as they have that choice with any other book. In the minds of children, I don't think these books will be portrayed as racist. That was clearly not the intent of the books, why is it the interpretation?
I dont think that getting rid of dr.seuss books is the right thing to do. I dont see how the book were offensive or racist i dont get how people can get all mad over a chilldrens book. when the books were first made everone loved the books, they were the best know for kid books and now that its 2021 everone is just trying to find somthing to fight and or just looking for attention.
I don't really think there's a point in trying to cancel him now. The books shouldn't even be offensive in anyway let alone racist. It's so dumb; he definitely didn't mean for them to come off as racist and they aren't anyway. Their just the same old books we've had since we were little and they should be looked at the same. People are just way too sensitive.
I don't think getting rid of seuss's books is the right thing to do. He had been writing books making children happy for many years and now he is racist? I understand if they have to take down some of his books because of the sake of the company but there has to be a point where us people are taking all of this too far. And who are these random people to make these claims when the man is dead, his intentions could be completely different than anyone thought.
I don't feel we should get rid of Dr. Seuss's books. We all grew up reading or listening to people read the books to us. I get that the times have changed but their child books and kids don't know what that means. These books were made years ago and we didn't care then so why are we doing this when the author is dead. He can't back himself up.
I do not think that they should take away Dr. seuss books. kids grew up reading them and there was never any problems. Racism is a problem but i don't think there is any point to take his books away. I think people are focussing on it more because racism is a huge deal because all the things that happened.
I think that Dr. Seuss past may have made this happen and seeing his background information may be realated to this because he was a horrible person. I think that people are just really taking more focus into the books now because racial is a huge deal now and people are really sensitve to some things. Because if it was a big deal now why wasnt it back then when it first came out?
