A young male from Johnston, Iowa collided head on with a semi truck in the west-bound lanes. The vehicle went up in flames but nobody was killed, because the semi driver got out and helped save the guy from his burning vehicle.
What could of motivated him to drive in the wrong direction?

I don't know why he would have been motivated to drive the wrong way. Yes I would if I could save them and as long as I wasn't guaranteed to die by trying to help. It would be scary though.
I would run up to a burning vehicle if it was one of my family members or someone I knew. As long as it didn't look to dangerous I would take the risk. If not I would call 911 for help.
He could of been intoxicated or on some drugs. He also could of been on a lack of sleep. Those truck drivers drive for a long period of time.

I think that he could of been driving while impaired in some sort of way. I think that i would if the fire was still a small one. If it was a large fire then i wouldn't because it is probably too late.
Maybe the man was drunk driving, or perhaps otherwise distracted. I'm not sure if I'd go to a burning vehicle to save another's life, especially if they just carelessly endangered mine, but in the spur of the moment, I would probably try my best to help them.
That's true, but even if they almost killed you it could have just been an accident and that is no reason to not help someone.
He could have been trying to hurt someone else or been on drugs at the time. Yes If I knew I wasn't at risk of the car blowing up.
Maybe he was drunk or high or just extremely tired. I would try but I would be very scared that it would blow up in seconds.
