A California couple found close to $10 million in gold coins. These coins were buried on the couple’s property. The couple who found the coins is looking to remain anonymous. In February 2013, the gold coins were first discovered. When walking their dog, the couple saw something shiny on their lawn. Wanting to know what is was, they dug and found eighty metal cans. There was close to a total of 1,400 coins. There is something the couple doesn’t know, where the coins came from. This is still a mystery. These coins are very valuable because of their age. One coin is worth close to one million dollars. The couple is going to sell most of the coins, but give some of the money back to charity.
I think this is an incredible find. I would be very excited if I found 10 million dollars in coins in my backyard. I would probably sell them for the money. What would you do with the coins if you were in this situation? Also, where do you think the coins came from?

Well done!
It would be awesome to just be walking around and find 10 million dollars in my backyard! If i found 10 million dollars in coins I would think that they were buried by people a long time ago to hide but then died and were left their. I would definitely sell it for the money but I would make it go to things that are needs and not on junk.
Yes, if I had all that money, I would try to spend it on needs. If you spent it on junk, you might run out of money in a couple of years. The 10 million dollars would be gone before you knew it.
I'd probably keep a lot of it for games and such, but give some to charity as well. I think this came from a prospector back in the mid 1800's that didn't trust banks so he dug his own safe and probably forgot where it was. I'm guessing that's how the treasure that couple found came to be.
That is a great idea to where the coins first came from. It is very possible since this did take place in California. The land prospector might of had to leave suddenly without being able to get the coins he buried.
These people are very lucky and Its interesting that the coins were only found now. Its really nice that they are going to donate some of the money to charities instead of just keeping it all for themselves.
It's like finding the hidden treasure in your own backyard! I probably would sell some of the coins, but also keep some for my family or maybe even to display the lost treasure. I have no idea where the coins came from, the best idea would be from the owners that lived there before they did.
I am sure that the couple tried to contact the previous house owner. That would be the first place to start. Also, that would be a great idea to display some of the old coins for everyone to see.
I would probably go crazy if I found all that money on my property. I definitely wouldn't keep all the money, most of it would go to charity.
That is so crazy! That couple is definitely lucky!
