Cop pulls over Google self driving car

A reporter from CNN says that on Thursday a cop pulled over one of googles self driving cars that was going 24 miles an hour in a 35 mile an hour zone. The car was holding up traffic behind. There were passengers in the car but no driver to ticket since it was a self driving car. My opinion is that in the future it is going to be hard to charge people for tickets and fines because there will be no drivers, just passengers. Police could charge the owners of the car though.

Do you think that self driving cars are a good innovation? Why or why not?

Your opinion?

  • Again, you didn't reply to any comments.

  • I think self driving cars are good innovations but they need to be more tested. But I think I might would never buy such a care because I would be to scared that something goes wrong and it don't work right.

  • I think self driving cars are cool, but before they go on the streets I think they need to be tested more, so that it is safe for everybody on the streets or in the car.  We don't want the car to go 70mph in a 25mph zone that is very dangerous for everybody.

  • Self driving cars are a cool idea, but I don't think they will be accepted. It's definitely a great innovation and I'm glad that scientists are being challenged to be creative, but I think that there needs to be some improvements made first. There are so many small things that could go wrong and it's such a huge change from what people are used to. I definitely think it's dangerous and I think there would need to be several more laws made concerning these cars on the road. As I said, it's a cool idea, but I think some improvements need to be made before it goes full-fledged.

  • Well there are some good things about it but there are some not so good things about it. But I think that we dont really need thoughs I think we could do just fine with people driving the cars.

  • I do not think it is good because what if something goes wrong with them. Who would get the blame for the wreck or speeding.

  • No, I think it would be more dangerous than driving a car by itself. Many things could go wrong in the car.

  • no. overall i believe its just better and more save for people to actually drive there car rather than being lazy and letting the car do it, all that will come from this is more wrecks

  • I think cases like this will be interesting until we figure out who to ticket. I agree with that the owner of the car should get fined, It is their responsibility to make sure that the car is working and running properly.
