Cookie Monster Acts Out!

A man in a cookie monster costume taking pictures in Times Square was arrested after pushing down a 2 year old after his mother refused to tip Cookie Monster. Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

As you may have thought, this sort of thing isn't rare. Although people in costumes posing for pictures cannot be paid, it is customary to tip them. Many characters, such as Spider Man and Elmo, get upset and out of control when they do not receive their tip.

I think it is a little ridiculous to push down a small child over two dollars. This guy is a jerk. He deserved to be arrested in my opinion.

  • Seriously? Pushing a two year old over for not paying them? That's just wrong. I'm sorry, I mean that's how you make your money, but common, this is a two year old. I'm sure You'll live without two dollars.

  • This is horrible to put labels on these Disney characters like that, when I was that age I looked up to those kind of people dressed up in the costumes of the people on the TV shows. People these days are gunna grow up wrong if more people do the same thing as this "Cookie Monster."

  • Wow! This is crazy! I hope the kid is okay. But that man should be arrested and be in jail for like 20 years. :)

  • I think he should he pushed him down just for 2 dollars that's ridiculous some people are just rude.

  • I didn't know that characters like that expect to get tipped. It's crazy that he would push a child because his mother wouldn't tip him. I'm glad he got arrested; he could have seriously hurt that child.

  • This is ridiculous that this guy in the suit would do that to a child. Hopefully he gets punished for what he did and the kid isnt scared of the cookie monster.

  • That is really mean for what he did to such a small child and i think it was a good idea for what happened to him.

  • This is not acceptable by any means, but I don't think it's necessary to arrest him and put him in jail. There are far worse people that are worth the tax dollars it costs to hold criminals in there. Maybe keep an eye on this guy, but don't arrest him this time.

  • This is very rare and weird, why he would do something like that? Well we wont find out that ever

  • That is a terrible thing he should be punished for it. I mean you don't just push little kids down, but maybe you should tip him. He is doing something that can make your kid happy give him a buck or 2 maybe but there is still no reason to over react on this.
