Dennis Mcguire was convicted of rape and murder in 1994 was put to death on Januarry 16th, 2013. The only problem was that they used a new combination of drugs in the lethal injection, and the reaction was not expected. It said that he gasped and convulsed for about 15 minutes and then died. The reason for the new drugs is because the company that made them in Europe banned the use of their product in the U.S. So the prison made one that was a mixture of a Sedative, a Painkiller, and other drugs.
I personally feel that they shouldn't have made the drugs they should just stop the executions because they can't know how the drugs is affecting him. I think that they should have just left him in jail.

I think they should of just left him in the jail and let him die on his own by old age or whatever else.
We need to save money and space so execution for the worst crimes is good, but they should not have made up their own untested injection because you never know what may happen.
I agree with execution but hate the idea of lethal injection. Just needles and poison going into the body makes me cringe. I would rather just have a firing squad. Quicker and there's no room for error like there is with lethal injection.
That's true but the problem with that is if they don't hit you in the right spot then they have a lawsuit adn and a lot of people would disagree with it.
I don't understand why they used a different mixture of drugs for this execution. As far as I know, the lethal injection had been doing the job with no complications. They should have left it how it was. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
The company that they got it from stopped selling it to him and so they had to make a new mix other wise they would have used that one.
I think that they should have know what this would do to someone and they should have tested it on lab rats or something before they actually used it on someone. I believed He deserved execution but not like that.

I don't think the prison should have made their own version of the mixture... They should have either just killed him another way or left him to rot in jail... Personallly I think, lying around in a cell for the rest of your life with nothing to look forward to is a way worse punishment than being killed and having it all be over with
