Sheriff's deputies in a Georgia prison have recently uncovered a new way to smuggle marijuana. Henry Ison Rouse and Nekoase Antwan Vinson were escorted to a funeral home this last Thursday to bid their final goodbye to their deceased grandmother. The two men were given a private viewing to see their grandmother and, according to Rev. Roland Stroud, one of the men spent a considerable amount of time with the coffin. The men were later taken back to the prison and when guards performed the standard search on Vinson, they found marijuana, tobacco, a lighter, and a cellphone stuffed into his pants. The sheriff believes that the men had outside sources hide the illegal contraband in their grandmother's casket for them to take back to the jail. They were both charged with marijuana possession and trying to take contraband into jail. Sheriff David Davis commented later, "To use the body of a deceased grandmother to hide drugs and other contraband is wicked."
Smoking marijuana, or "weed," I don't think should be such a top priority to police because it doesn't create the harmful effects that other drugs and legal substances (such as alcohol) does, thus, too much time is being spent on busting people for a relatively harmless drug. How do you feel about the marijuana legality issue? And, if you were able to handle this specific situation in whatever way you wanted, how would you do it?

Well done Aleixis! We will be discussing this topic further in CWI.
Marijuana has accounted for zero deaths all time but alcohol kills thousands of people each year.
I think they over exaggerate when someone smokes marijuana or has possession of it because it doesn't kill people it's just illegal. I'm not saying we should make alcohol illegal but drinking alcohol has probably killed more people than someone smoking marijuana.
I think it should be legalized. Of course I don't smoke but I like to think that the government can make a great profit from it by taxing weed and that would help a lot because marijuana is relatively harmless and lots of people smoke it already illegally.
Exactly - people are already smoking it illegally, so clearly they're going to continue to do it. Making it legal would only allow police to focus on more important criminal activity than marijuana.
I personally don't really have an opinion either way whether or not it should be legal.
If I was going to see my dead grandmother, I would have respect for her and not use her death for personal gain.
I don't see the problem with medicinal or recreational use of the drugs. No one has ever died of an overdose of marijuana. It doesn't cause violence. We waste so much time treating addicts like criminals, instead of the victims most of them are. The drug dealers are the criminals.
Marijuana doesn't need to be illegal, as stated is has less effect on the human body and mind than alcohol does. If i had to handle the situation with the smuggling of contraband, i would tell them how dispicable it was to use their grnadmothers funeral to get drugs, and how they need to get it together.
I don't think it should be as serious like you said because there are other drugs and legal things that are worse. If I caught them doing that I guess I would have to bust them I mean I would probably just bust them because of how they did it too.
