An Indian Construction worker, "Sanjay Bahe" was on his first day on the job. Going over things and looking things over Sanjay fell in a well and a iron rod fell in the well causing to hit him in the head and go straight through his head. The rod had entered the right tempral side of his head through to the left frontal region. Millimeters from hitting the main blood vessel to the brain he survived the surgery led by Dr. Paramod Giri. This surgery took 90 minutes to do and had to be done in a rapid speed so it wouldnt do anymore damage like hypotension or Low blood pressure. Luckily he survived the surgery and no irrevocable damage was done to his brain.

What do you think the doctors mind was going through while doing surgery?

I think he/she was very scared or nervous and didnt want to mess up because it could mess his life up forever.

Would this be a life changing occurance, would you quit your job as a construction worker?

I would try and recover as fast as I could and try and continue with the construction, but if I didnt get along as I did before I would probably try and get a new job or try something new.

  • Your summary is decent but I think the story choice is weak. It's just hard to have any good discussion on accident stories like this. You didn't reply to anyone which is worth 20 points. -5 late

  • 1) I also believe that he/she would be very nervous and very astonished on what happened. I think they surgery is surgery so I think that anyone going through this would be very nervous.

    2) I am really not sure if I would quit my job or not. I think that at first I would try to recover as best as I could and then I would probably try to get a new job. I would want to get back as fast as I could.

  • First of all, they were probably wondering how it even happened and how there was a chance to even save him. I would recover and go back to work if everything works out because this is most likey the job he loves to do.

  • I am sure the doctors were unsure of how the surgery would turn out. They would do everything they could to keep this man alive and with minimal brain damage. An event like this would for sure change my entire life. Recovery time would be very important and I would likely stay in a more safe job area.

  • I think the doctor was probelly thinking what happend how is he alive will he live and how are we going to save this man

I think it I would be way more careful at my job and be carful what im around and who im around No i woudlent i would keep working as one

  • He was probably a little nervous but had his mind set to do this freaky fast so they wouldn't loose the patient or have permanent damage later on in life. I don't know if I would wanna go back since that happened on the first day. I would probably try to find a job that is not as dangerous.

  • They were probably pretty stunned that this guy was still halfway alive, I feel like if someone gets impaled through the head with a iron rod should be dead within a few moments. I think it depends on the damage that it would cause in his life after the injury, I would probably go back to my job, just be a lot more cautious!

  • As a doctor I think you should always have a mindset as that you will save your patient no matter what it takes. But even if you are the most experience doctor out there I think you would still be very overwhelmed  and it may be hard to stay focused.

  • I think the doctor was thinking what in the heck happened here? I also think they would have been very nervous, incase he messed up or did something wrong. Yes, I would probably quit my job completely. Think of the recovery time it would take to get back to a normal functioning human.

  • Probably a little nervous but also calm because that's their job and they know what to do. I probably would but if you really loved doing it then maybe you wouldn't but for sure I would I would be scared to get hurt like that again.
