New Student Help Guide


1. Go to mrbruns.ning.com and sign up for my website.

2. Your username should start with the number from the period you have my class followed by your name. For example, 4Tom.

3. Fill out all the info it asks of you. You will need an email address. See me if you do not have one or simply sign up for a free Gmail account.

4. Once done signing up, I will have to accept your membership.

5. Once I do that, click on the CWI or US History link at the top of the page and click to join that page. I also have to accept your request to join.

6. Now you have access to my entire website.


Here are the things you have to do every week on your website/blog:


1. Write one assigned blog topic per week.
-be prepared to talk abut it on Monday.
-30 points for written and 20 points for discussion

2. Write five daily reflective blog summaries.
-one for each day of the week-even if you are absent or there is no school(not weekends).
-these are where you take notes for the class.
-summarize what you learned/did/researched in class that day.

-2 points per day, 10 points a week.


3. Start or reply to five message board posts per week.
-needs to be history/social studies or current events related.

-Each post need to be meaningful
-10 points

5. Make sure that your individual website looks nice and has your latest projects uploaded/embedded/hyperlinked.
-20 points per cycle

Once every three weeks your website will be graded(100-140 points) based on getting the above assignments done.
