Last Friday in Arapahoe, Colorado, 18-year-old Karl Pierson went on a shooting rampage. Specifically, he'd written five letters/numbers on his arm, corresponding with the library and classrooms near it, that investigators believe indicate what he planned to do. The numbers/letter indicated the library and the rooms around it. There was only one victim of Pierson's shooting, 17-year-old Claire Esther Davis. Claire was shot in the head and is now in critical condition. He later ignited a firebomb in the library then turned the gun on himself. The police say that Pierson was looking for revenge against a librarian but couldn't find the faculty member and killed himself as a school resource officer closed in. Karl's parents released a statement on Monday offering prayers to Claire's family,
"As parents, we loved our son Karl dearly and we are devastated by what happened Friday. We cannot begin to understand why Karl did what he did," Barbara and Mark Pierson said. They also offered prayers "for the entire Arapahoe High School community, as we know your lives are forever changed by this horrific event."
Why do you think Karl wanted revenge against a librarian? Why would he take such harmful action against one person? Read the full story here.

I am glad it wasn't worse than it already is. Well done!
I feel that he had no legitimate reason to do this and he was merely being irrational about it. In my opinion he overreacted and should have thought more clearly before making such a large decision.
I think he probably had something wrong with him, but I don't know why he would kill the librarian for revenge. No matter how mad you get your shouldn't want to take somebody's life over it.
It is crazy what people do these days! Just because you are mad at somebody doesn't mean you go on a shooting rampage and seriously injure somebody and harm the lives of many other people!
I feel as if we need to do more resurrect in mental health conditions and how to prevent these tragedy's from occurring however the best way is just for teachers to be able to have guns themselves.
I agree, but one thing that I can think of is what if a teacher does something with that gun? Either way, it would be helpful.
I don't know why a person would do such a thing as going on a plan to shoot and maybe kill multiple people. As said, he wanted revenge on one person, but risked the lives of other people. It is just insane that anyone would kill people and then themselves within a school, causing tragedy for many people.
I agree completely! He obviously wasn't thinking about the other lives he might destroy and the families he would hurt in the process.
I think he did what he did for a reason, no one will ever know. The librarian must have really made him mad for him to want to kill them.
