College Sports Video Games Coming Back???

Have you ever wondered when college sports video games would be coming back? Well soon to come, EA Sports could be creating college football in 2020. The period for not having these types of video games is because of the case of players wanting to be paid for the use of their identity. This case goes way back for many years because of the fight between current and former players vs EA Sports. The players believe that because of EA Sports using their name, number, position, weight, and height, they should be paid for using this very personal information. This fight may be over considering the solution of making a rule or law in the NCAA that college players cannot be paid no matter the discretion of their identity. A lot of "gamers" are ready for 2020 and the wait for the new games to come. The question to lead on after this is....how will it turn out?

Questions:

1. Would you like to see these types of games back in making for the fun of kids?

I remember playing these games at a kid and would really enjoy to see these games back in business. I hope an agreement can be made.

2. If you were a college athlete, would you allow this to happen without getting paid?

I would want to be paid which makes me believe that this is a very tough situation to agree on.

  • I hope they do! Good summary but you could have replied a lot more. -5 late.

  • I wouldn't personally play these games because I don't really play video games, but a lot of younger people would probably like a new game like this to play. I would want to get paid if my information was used in the game, because otherwise the company is just taking advantage of me and the other players that are featured in the game.

  • I think these games are very appealing to children, so even though I wouldn't play them, I think it would be smart for the video game producers to sell these games again. Personally, I don't understand why people don't just go out and play the games in real life with their real bodies rather than sitting around twiddling their game controllers. If I was a college athlete and I was a character in the game, I would definitely expect some compensation.

  • personally I have never enjoyed sports games but it sounds like people like it. I would not really care about the money as much as not being asked permission. it would  almost be like stealing my Personality.

  • I dont really care never played it dont intend on it.I think that if you are going to put someones face or team on somthig then they should be able to get paid for it. It should be common sense.

  • I don't really mind it as long as it's not finite I really hate it and kids will spend hours just on the one game. I wouldn't because if I were to be a character in the game I would deserve to get paid because you would have to do lots of things for that video game so yes I would want to be paid it only seems fair.

  • This seems unfair in a way. I would be ready and feel like the games would be better, but would not like it if I was one of the people in the game. I don't mind my weight or hight, but letting anyone in the world know seems like a little much.

  • I think it'd be good to get some new video games out there. I would be mad if I wasn't getting paid for the use of my identity. I think it's a good idea for the NCAA to pay the players.

  • I think that these could bring alot of fun to kids and get them interested in sports.

I would want my personel info to stay private even if i was being paid

  • 1) yes I love these games so much that I kept the Xbox 360 to keep playing NCAA Football 14. Probably the greatest game ever created. Also, not only will the people enjoy the games, I feel like college athletes will too just to see themselves on a game. Plus business will boom.

    2) Oh yes 110% I would. It would be so cool just to see where you play and your jersey and I would love it.
