2. really easy and your dumb if you dont do them.: you dont have anything to talk about
3. easy because you just type what you did for the day.: you have to do them everyday
4. forget about these untill like sunday so then i gotta do them last minute.: we have to do them every week
5. i like them because then i can see what i all did: you have to upload projects and make it perfect
6. i can say what i want easier.: you dont know what to say at times and you or mrs bryan are staring at us
7. we can teach from a students perspective then i review (when you teach): all we do is projects
8. you stay calm, joke around with people, get class involved.
9. yea, i have learned to speak louder in front of a class and to even speak infront of a class. some people dont do their work and others have to do it for them.
10. i would have liked to watch more movies especially on like hitler and the holocaust because i like that unit.
2. Message boards: The message boards are an interesting way to chat and express our views. I think everyone who goes onto a forum enjoys all of the stories and news feeds that come in that are student generated and student controlled. Sometimes they may get heated, but I think that is where a lot of the fun of it comes from. If you continue with your website I think I would look into ways that can keep the message boards and forums tip top and enjoyable. Easier access would be nice. It seems like every time you post sommething, you have to go all the way back through the beginning in order to get back to more posting.
3. Daily blogs: Daily blogs can turn into a hassel. It helps to do them in class, but quite often I find myself having to save and quit and come back and edit and publish what I have later on. It helps to write the things that are going on so that we can look back on them, but it gets kind of hard to keep up sometimes. I guess I don't have any suggestions except that it would be nice and time saving if they weren't all graded. But I suppose all of those grades add up and help us out too.
4. Assigned blogs: Assigned blogs are great ways to learn a lot and get some information out their. The only thing that I really have a problem with them is that I can never seem to get them done until the last minute but I guess that is my fault. I think ning needs to work on the format of the blogs because whenever I post a blog it mushes all of my paragraphs into one big annoying blob.
5. Your individual websites: I think that the individual websites are good ways to express ourselves while also showing what we are learning and doing. It's funny to see all of the profile pictures that pop up from everyone and it seems to be turning into a facebook type school thing. Sometimes it is hard to keep all the website stuff up to date.
6. Oral tests: I like the oral tests for a number of reasons. A lot of times on a written test, I end up writing a novel to try and get my point or description across. When I am speaking directly to the teacher, I can get it all out quickly and I can tell if they get the picture. If not,I can easily continue to expound on what I am trying to get across. i also like that while some people are taking the test, others can continue to study and get other work done.
7. Semester test setup: The setup is good because it gets us all in and out pretty quickly and we don't have to spend the entire hour sitting there. that is a double edged sord though. Because of the number of oral test takers, we get rushed and it gets harder to get what we need to say said in the alotted time. I guess we just need to really know what we are going to say, but there is so much information to cover on such a broad spectrum that that can get frustrating to try and relearn everything that we learn from presentations, especially when presentations can take weeks and we don't have all of the information that we need, especially when some people do a lousy job of presenting.
7. My teaching process/style which goes in a this cycle:
your research--you present--my "mop-up lecture--test/research--you present---cycle continues: This process is a great way for people to get really in depth with a topic that they have been assigned to. However, not everyone gets all that enthused about it which subsequently leads to poor presentations. After that, you have to rush through the topic for your mop up and many times the point doesn't come across and we are more confused than before. It can be a hassle to have to go back and go through all of the other peoples work to understand a topic for the test.
One thing that I don't quite understand and would like you to discuss or elaborate on is your grading for presentations. I feel that on many presentations I try to go above and beyond the call of duty with my presentation information and time and effort and I don't seem to recieve a grade that would reflect all of that effort. It seems as though people who skim through a presentation, don't get the point or great information across, and don't put much effort into it receive a grade higher than what would be expected form the work.
8. My demeanor as a teacher(click on word if you don't know what it means): You have a great demeanor and you are always friendly. You are easy to get along with and I really have absolutely no idea how you can go through everything on the website for every one of your classes with time to spare. i would also like to see you grow a mohawk or something.
9. Do you feel this class benefited you? Why or why not? I feel that the class benefitted me. I learned how to do a lot of technical computer things that I doubt i would have learned how to do unless I took a computer class. This is a different teaching style and it is refreshing to get a little out of the rut of usual teaching methods.
10. Other?? I'm not really sure, other than that mohawk comment on the above question. I guess there is a reason that your site has been mentioned in a book, but therre are definitely some improvements that ningneeds to look into. This includes the accessibility of the forums, the blog formats, and it would be nice if tey could put a typo thing on it.
2. Message boards- I think that the message boards are a good way for kids in the class to express themselves. I think that the discussions are pretty good most of the time and that I usually learn something weird and strange. Yet sometimes there are some pretty stupid discussions that shouldn’t be put up. I think it would be cool if you could make discussion but it has to be approved by Mr.Bruns first before its open to the kids to discuss and talk about. I think that the message board posts are a good way to get new news out there to people and to hear things you normally wouldn’t hear unless you heard it from someone else.
3. Daily blogs- I think doing daily blog post are a good thing to do because it summarizes what we learned that day. Also it gives a good thing to look back on for test and to see what we need to do assignments and studying. On the down side of daily blogs I don’t think they should be graded as harshly as they are now. Also I don’t think that the daily blogs should be counted late as long as you get them done.
4. Assigned blogs- I usually enjoyed doing the assigned blogs on the weekends because it gave me the chance to actually research the topic and learn something. I think that the assigned blogs are better than the teacher preaching something in front of the class that most of the students will forget as soon as the bell rings. It gives the students a chance to actually research and read what they are learning about rather than just flipping through pages looking for the bolded words in a book. On the flip side to the assigned blogs I think that they are over used. I disliked the fact that when we already had a powerpoint project assigned to us and trying to finish that you, Mr.Bruns would throw more work on top of the work load we already have, and also it would mix up the topics and thing would get scrabbled in your head.
5. Your individual websites- I think the individual websites are pretty nice. I like the fact that you could download music, photos, and customize your page. I liked that you could also customize where you put everything on your page and how you wanted in to look. I like the options you gave us for backgrounds but I never quite figured out how to put your own background on.
6. Oral tests- At the start of this semester I thought that the oral test were going to kill me. But fortunately I found out that they were so hard after all. I like the fact that I was one on one with a teacher and not trying to stress out writing thing down on a paper and stressing out trying to figure out if im spelling things right. I liked the fact that Ms.B always had a big smile on her face and was always excited to do some history testin! I liked the fact that with a oral test with a teacher they could kinda help you find that answer your looking for without fully given you the correct answer.
7. Semester test setup- I haven’t taken a semester test in here yet but what isn’t to like about a fifteen minute semester test. I think its pretty great how we are getting our own time slots and we just have to come in and talk about everything we know about the subject and do work. I think that the test should go pretty well!
7. My teaching process/style which goes in a this cycle:
your research--you present--my "mop-up lecture--test/research--you present---cycle continues
Well I think one part of this title it the answer your truly looking for……. Mop-up lecture……. Yeah we do our presentations and talk about our subjects and all that good stuff but without the mop up lecture some of the presentations would make sense. I like how you go through everything and explain it in a way that we understand and how we need to no it for the test.
8. My demeanor as a teacher(click on word if you don't know what it means) Well you’re a laid back teacher and know how to have fun but at the same time you know when works needs to get done. Well dressed. No bad breath. No bad body odor. Overall pretty good.
9. Do you feel this class benefited you? Why or why not? I think this class has actually hurt me. I have a bad grade in this class and its because of the little things I don’t do. I do good on the test we take but not so good on the blogs and all that. I know all my information and do good on the test but yet I have a bad grade, I just don’t think that’s right. I mean isn’t that the reason for taking a class? To know the information and do good on the test? Its just the little discussions and daily blogs that hurt me.
10. Other?? I think that the grading on the projects and a little harsh. It nearly infeasible to get an A on the project, powerpoints and for something of the projects they are very well done but yet don’t get the grade deserved. To sum it up I think the grading is a little to post high school

I really like how you can break things up under classes, like a main page for cwi and and a different main page for your other classes like u,s. history. I can't really think of any other options i would like to see on the site.
2. Message boards
I like doing message board posts because it can keep people updated about what's going on in the world in a short summary. At first I didn't understand how you graded how many we did, but now I know. It's kind of a pain on keeping track of how many you do everyday though. So, I guess that would be a response under what other things I would like to see on the website.
3. Daily blogs
I reallyyy did not like doing daily blogs at first. But, when I started working on my semester test blog I wish that I would have expanded more and now I understand the importance of them.
4. Assigned blogs
For the most part, I didn't mind doing assigned blogs, but I wish we wouldn't have had to do one every week. I was very relieved when the assigned blogs died down toward the end of the semester. My favorite were the free choice ones, although, it was difficult for me sometimes to find an article that caught my attention.
5. Your individual websites
I liked how we could customized our websites. They helped keep track of all the stuff that I've done so I can look back at it for more information.
6. Oral tests
Overall, I did like oral tests. I felt like I was more knowledgeable. I didn't like how I always found myself second guessing myself, but that's my fault. Another little thing that bothered me a tiny bit was how sometimes you would type on your computer while we were testing. I found it a little distracting, but no offense at all!!! I think that you are a great teacher.
7. Semester test setup
I like how you know exactly what is going to be on the test. Unlike other tests, where some teachers are like, look over this because it may or may not be on the test. I think it was very helpful in the end. In the beginning, I hated the idea of a semester test blog, but now I can tell how beneficial it is. It gives me the opportunity to look back and refresh my memory of what we've done this semester.
7. My teaching process/style which goes in a this cycle:
your research--you present--my "mop-up lecture--test/research--you present---cycle continues
Like a said before, I think that you are a really good teacher. You make sure that we actually understand what is going on and if we don't you break it down piece by piece. Sometimes it felt like we didn't have as much time as I would like to prepare for projects and other things, but I realize some of that is because of pure laziness on my part.
8. My demeanor as a teacher(click on word if you don't know what it means)
Haha making a link to the word proves that you care about whether or not we understand what we are learning. Without the link to that word I probably would have just typed out some nonsense. I think your demeanor is very appropriate.
9. Do you feel this class benefited you? Why or why not?
I think that this class did benefit me because it was something out of the ordinary. It gets boring just reading out of books everyday, and ,with technology accelerating the way it is, using the computers definitely helped.
10. Other??
Umm.. I can't really think of anything else I would have to say about this class except that I didn't always dread it like I do some other classes. Nice job Mr. Bruns
2. I like the message boards. They let you know what’s going on in the world. The one thing that I would change would be to not have them be homework, just extra credit.
3. Daily blogs are alright but they start to get boring to do after a while. Instead of having 5 daily blogs I think you should have one blog due a week but should still have all the information that the daily blogs have just have it put into one blog.
4. I am not that big of a fan of assigned blogs. I would like them a lot more if we only had them like once a month.
5. I like how we can personalize our websites and how we each have our own pages. I also think it’s pretty sweet how we can have friends.
6. I like oral tests so much more than written tests. When we have oral tests it seems you can make me think more and explain it more. I think people are crazy when they take the written test instead of the oral test.
7. I really like your teaching style! I like how you have students try and teach each other. I also like how you don’t lecture all the time.
8. I like your demeanor a lot. We can joke around with you but then you also teach us well.
9. This class has benefited me a lot. It is preparing me for the real world. When I go to college I will be able to use some of these learning tactics.
10. I would like to involve the text book just a little more. Not as much as Mr. Murtaugh but just enough to see both ways of teaching.
2) I like the message boards they are easy and fast and you get to say your opinion.
3) I like the daily blogs they are like notes and you can always look back at them when you need to.
4) I like them we have a week to do them and we learn a lot more about the topic.
5) I like them because there fun to customise!
6) I really like the oral tests i think they are a lot better than the written tests.
7) I like the reaserch because you learn a lot and from other people presenting and i like the feedback because then i know what i did good on and what i need to improve on.
8) I think it has helped me i always have been open to talk or present im okay with it but it has helped me.
9) Yes it has helped me be more comfertable with power points and things like that.
10) I think your a really good teacher and everyone needs to take a class like yours to help them.
2. i hate message borad posteds and things that are pointless to talk about
3. i like them cause you can look back and see what it was that you did that day if you need to find out.
4. i like them ca use you can dig in deeper to finr out what it is that you are going to blog about
5. i hate haveing to deal with the website cause it is to big of a hasal
6. i like them but i hate them to cause if you thing you know sonething you write it down to were if you are talking it is easyer to exsplan
7. i like the setup cause you can go on and do it at any time and added to it and it is a good study thing so you know want is going to be the test.
8. you are very out there some times but you never yell and you are very recinable to all students.
9. will no cause i dont really need a history class for college cause i am going to a cooking school to learn how to cook
and yes cause of the golbal warming and animals thing
10. i like the fun that we have in you class and things that we dont really have in others
2. i like the message boreds there grate way for people to state there opinion and listin to the wonderful and not so wonderful facts of life. i dont think that we should do them for points or if we do they need to be less of them or there needs to be more interesting message bored posts
3.i like the daily blogs the are grate for notes but if the internet was faster we can get more things done and get more things typed down i wouldnt mind doing this at all but i think we need more time to do things
4.I HATE HATE HATE the assinged blogs were are people how dont have acsees to a computer abd have other things to do for class'es and have no time at all to do them. this was what i hate most in the class that no one asked the students if they had a computer when to clearly need a computer for your class.
5.websites i think are okay i never really look at mine i dont think that they are that impotant.
6.i dont think i have ever done so wel on tests before i love the tests and i find them much more easy then wighten tests and there not so nerve racking well to me.
7.its okay i dont like the blogging part but other then that everything is good
7.i dont really like the cmputer stuff if dot know computers hate me the eather die,go really slow, wont let me log in, or something worst i like a book and a worksheet much much better
8. i think that you do a grate job but to some people that dont have you think that you a little mean and intimidating but i think that you always have a positive additued so i kinda like going to class.
9.yes it has i am a faster typer and know how to use google docs and how to blog but i still dont like them
10. your doing a good job eep up the good work
2. I think that the message boards are nice to have because they keep you up to date on current events although some of them are really random and they don't really help. I think that 5 a week is easy to do and that it wouldn't be a big deal in the future.
3. I think the daily blogs are kinda nice to have although sometimes it just seems like they are just there. Since we don't take notes any other way it seems to have helped me to remember things that we learn.
4. I personally don't like the assigned blogs. I like to learn new information but I don't really learn it that well if I know that I'm being graded on it and that I have to write a bunch on it. If I was to be in the class again I wouldn't like to see them return.
5. The websites are nice for organizational purposes but other than that I never use it. It wouldn't necessarily but needed.
6. I like the oral tests because I can think about it easier and I would rather talk about something than have to write about it.
7. The semester tests are pretty easy for me because you can get them moved around to when it works best for you and that is pretty nice for me. I like how we are given the test ahead of time.
8. I don't really like the research projects. It is ok if we have to do big projects every once in a while but we do them all the time and it just seems like you are stuck on the same topic for weeks.
9. I think that your demeanor is better than some teachers in which you actually seem to enjoy teaching the class whereas some would not.
10. I think the class has benefited me in that I think I learned more doing the research than just looking at something briefly in a book but I would have rather have not had to do all of the work that went along with it as I am a lazy person.
