The United States Citizenship test is very hard to pass. My mom grew up in Mexico and moved to the United States in her 20's. She didn't come here illegally, she had a greencard. She lived here for a few years and soon after met my dad. My mom has lived in the US for 20+ years and speaks fluent english although she has a very strong accent. My mom went to take her citizenship test recently for her job at Elm Crest. The questions on the test seemed unneccesarily difficult. Some were easy, some were hard. They asked questions such as "name 3 US holidays" and "name this amendment _____" I think some of these were irrelevant.
Do you think the test should be easier?
Do you think people should have to take a citizenship test?

Great topic choice Sarah! Your summary is brief overall and you didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 30 points.
I think it shouldn't be too easy to pass the citizenship test considering that not everyone has great intentions. For those who just wan't to peacefully be able to live in the US, it may not seem fair to have a difficult test. I'm not completely sure how these questions are asked, but I'm guessing they have a point with the questions put on the test. The questions you have don't seem too difficult, but I can see how they seem a little random.
If you plan to come from another country to live in the US then you should know our country. So I think that people that come should take a test the only reason I think you shouldnt is if you were younger then 10 or you were born here. If you were in school in the US then you should know all the questions on the test and it wouldnt be hard to you.
I think the test is alright since your isn't the only one who had to take this test and they weren't being unfair to her because they gave it to everyone else. I do think people should have to take a citizenship test.
I don't think it would be hard with the examples you gave us. I think as a citizen of the United States, you shlould know that. If you don't, you study jut like any other test your not 100% sure about.
I think from the questions you just reffered to were not "hard." If you are teking a citzenship test they want to make sure you are activy in the uS history. Just like any other test you need to sudy before you take it. For questions like the ones you mentioned I believe if you take the percautions to study I believe it would not be that hard.
I think the citizenship test should required but not too dificult. Bu the test aslo shouldnt be so easy that anyone could pass it. The people who are going to take the test should be given something to study off of though. I think this test could be helpful to know more about our country though.
I think that the citizenship test should definitely be required. I also agree with you that the question should not be so challenging. At the same time these test shouldn’t be that easy because if it was then anyone would be able to pass it.
I think that the test should be easier, but not to easy that just anyone can get in. I think that some questions should be easy and some should be hard. I think that we do need to have a citizenship test because we need people to take it to know who they are and if they are truly a citizen or not.
I think it should be eaiser, or at least balanced. They shouldent make it so anyone can get in, but it shouldent be that some quetions are easy some are hard. You should at least have a blance for the test. But I do think that people should take a citizen test, They might at least have a grip on what place they are moving into if they take the test.
