Earlier this week several churches in the country of Sri Lanka were attacked on easter sunday in apparent terroist attacks. These attacks were believed to come as a retaliation to the New Zealand incident where a white supremist commited a mass shooting on a Muslim Mosque. A series of bombings were carried out during the day killing 290 and injuring more than 500 people. This is the largest act of violence for Sri Lanka in decades. Christians all over the world are being persecuted in areas where chirstianity is a minority. This is a growing problem that needs to be taken care of. People should not have to live in fear of going to a place of worship. This goes back all the way to when the crusades where going on. The war between christinaity and muslims continues to rage, and with it comes violence as well.

1. Do you believe that attacks on christians from muslims are more common then attacks on muslims by christians?
2. What are some safety features that churches could have to keep their members safe?
Replies
I also agree that this is a very bad thing that is happening and it is a real shame that churches should have to even consider having security. I can't imagine the people that have morals that allow them to think that attacking a place of worship is okay to do.
2 - I have not a clue as to how churches should better protect themselves, I think that the fact that we have to think about that is terrible. When people go to church they shouldn't have to worry about being able to make it home. I think our world needs to really rethink how everything and everyone works with eachother
1 - I guess I don't really know the answer to which group attacks more. I think that we all need to understand better that not all muslims are extreme and that for the most part, are peaceful. I think that chirstains have always had their bad moments and done things that most definitely do not follow their faith in God. I think that with the groups in the mdidle east, it is most likely more common to have attacks from muslims.
I also agree that the middle east is a hot spot for these attacks which has a prodominately muslim population. I am not saying that there are not wrong doings on either side of the two religions but this tention between them needs to end because it has been causing violence since the crusades.
Yes. Some safety features the churches could have are maybe have someone standing by the doorways at all times, whether there is something going on or not. They could also have better security, like cameras and locks on the doors so that unwanted people can't come in.
I agree that having the doors locked could prevent some of these attacks but having open doors for anyone to come is a staple of the christian religion our faith stresses that everyone is welcome in the church and locking people out would go against these morals.
I think more attacks against muslims because of how they are veiwed by most of the world, and they are looked at as violent. There really isn't much churches and places of worship couild do to prevent these except have security at the door which would be too expensive for most churches.
I feel like the attacks on chistians from muslims happen more often than the christians attacking the muslims, so the answer is yes the christianity could be under attack any moment. Some safety features could be about which people come in and which people leave so no one bad comes in and hurts them.
I would also say that attacks on christians from radical muslims occur more often. I beleive that this is because they believe in killing and using violence against non believers in their church and christians preach to never use violence in most churches.
Yeah, I do believe that the attacks on christians from the muslims are more common than the christians attacking them. I don't think I've ever heard of an attack from the christians. Theirs not much a church can do to protect themselves from bombs, but the police force needs to be better.
