Christianity Under Attack??

Earlier this week several churches in the country of Sri Lanka were attacked on easter sunday in apparent terroist attacks. These attacks were believed to come as a retaliation to the New Zealand incident where a white supremist commited a mass shooting on a Muslim Mosque. A series of bombings were carried out during the day killing 290 and injuring more than 500 people. This is the largest act of violence for Sri Lanka in decades. Christians all over the world are being persecuted in areas where chirstianity is a minority. This is a growing problem that needs to be taken care of. People should not have to live in fear of going to a place of worship. This goes back all the way to when the crusades where going on. The war between christinaity and muslims continues to rage, and with it comes violence as well.

    • I also agree that these shootings and bombings are a huge problem especially in the middle east it seems where there is a prodominant muslim population. I also agree that it is sad that churches would have to take precautions for acts like this.

  • I do not know which group is attacked more. Both groups have gotten attacked many times to the point where it hard to tell who will get attacked next. It is very sad and sickening to see this happen, especially to our own United States citizens. I personally don't think there are any precaution measure that need to go into place at churhces. It's not like you can add metal detectors to walk through when entering the building. I am unsure of a way to try and keep these attacks from happening and keeping the lives of many safe.

  • 1. I don't really think it matters who attacks who more we should just find a way to stop these things from happening.

    2. I think churches could have police outside the doors and sercuity cameras. Before church would take place they could check the cameras to see if anything suspisious went on while no one was there to determine if they should have church there that day.

  • I do not know what attacks happen more often. It seems like a even amount. Churches should not have to add safety featues. Churches should be a safe place for people to worship. But since all the attacks maybe adding a guard or camera could help prevent attacks.

    • I believe that radical muslims are more violent due to the fact that they believe that people that do not follow their religion should be irradicated. I do not think that security cameras alone would stop from an attacker from harming people within the church.

  • I do not know about the numbers in how many Christian and Muslim attacks there have been so I am not sure witch one has done more to the other. They could make sure to have plenty of exits in case of emergency and have a good structured building because depending on the bomb/weapon used to attack, the building will have a better chance of not colapsing and injuring more people.

    • it seems like you hear about more radical muslim attacks on the news than the very rare radical christian like the one in new zealand. All of the middle east terrorist groups are radical muslims that condone violence.

    • Yes that could be a way to try and prevent these bombings but it is a shame that doing searches would be neccessary for people trying to go to church to be safe. Churches should be a safe place for all to come and worship no matter your race or religion.

  • I really don't know which one is more common. They both can be very common, since there has been some big church attacks recently. Some safety features that could be there is that there could be a guard at the door. Also security cameras and better security in general.

  • I don't know what to say to this. This is all terrible in so many ways. I agree that people shouldn't be afraid in their "safe place" of worship. I think that some churches may have to start hiring security for some matters.
