Should there be screen time limits on video games? China announced that during the day children should only play video games for 90 minutes on weekdays and on weekends they are limited to 3 hours a day. Many parents and the Chinese government have worried about the downsides of video games. They are worried that too much screen is harming their normal study and mental health.
The parents in China did not think that the time limits were enough so they are pushing for further restrictions. As said on the website “Some teenage kids just won’t listen to their parents’ discipline, and this policy can control them." One of the reasons they have not yet made further restrictions is because online gaming has been the most profitable sector of China’s internet industry.
I think that the parents should have the choice on how long you should play video games. Video games may be harming mental health or normal study, but some kids like to play more than 90 minutes after going to school all day. If the video games are interfering with their school a restriction could be added, but otherwise, there should not be restrictions on them.

Do you think there should be restrictions on how long you play video games? If so how long should they be played?
Do you think video games are affecting mental health?

Great topic choice and well done Isabel! I do think that your summary, while three paragrpahs, could still be a bit longer in length. They are relativley short paragraphs.
I think that if there are going to be restrictions they should be made by your legal guardian not the government. I think that there should be a time limit of how long you can play video games. I think that video games do affect mental health. I think playing video games for too long could potentially get people in the mindset of video games being the most important thing compared to school or work.
I believe that it isn't the governments place to restrict the amount of time on a video game. I think that it should be the parent or guardians choice of the time spent on games. Yes, I do believe that over playing can be bad for mental health, but I think parents should recognize that and fix it themselves.
I think that the government shouldn't be restricting how long children can spend on video games. It should come down to the parent's decision and what they believe is truly best for their child. If video games are played for too long, I feel like it could end to some type of health issue or simply issues in different aspects of your life.
I personally think that at times there should be restrictions on video games because there have been times where I haven't gotten important school work done because of video games. I think that video games for the most part help with mental health as a way to releave stress.
I do not think that their should be restrictions on how long video games should be played. I think that video games help many kids to relax and releave stress by playing video games in their free time. I think that if a parrent wants to set restrictions on their kids video games time then they should do it themselves.
I think that there should be a time limit for video games. It messes with social ability in real life and I think people should converse in person. It also stops them from being productive around the house, getting a job, or learning about common things of the real world.
I do not think we should have restictions on games and I dont really play video games all the time. I think we shouldnt try to impose chinese laws on kids they are Communist and they are a huge threat to the U.S. and they seem to be advancing faster than us.
I don't think they should limit the time that students spend gaming. I think it's time that we understand that some kids are just not good at regular studies but they excel in other levels like gaming. There is always a possibility that they could be damaging mental health but there is always the chance that it could be benefiting some of them mentally.
I don't think there should be a restriction unless they are failing their studies, like you stated it should be up to the parents to decide how long they want to allow their child to play. As for mental health, it depends on the types of games they're playing and who they play with, if it's a fun good-mannered game with nice friends it could even be beneficial but if it's a negative game with mean friends then it will most likely have a bad outcome
